Of those? Whoever still has gold fielding in LF as their secondary.
(I value gold or diamond defense in the OF.)
-
Lou Brock
-
Bryant is a beast for me. But the price tag
-
Hide Ruth in left field and use one of the many first base options at first
-
New Yordan is free and rakes

Try out Carlson! Not a bad bat and diamond defense
Is there a benefit for having diamond defense players compared to gold other than the 4 defensive ratings (fielding, reaction, arm, accuracy)? In other words, if a gold defensive player has a 85 reaction and 85 speed. Will he get to the ball slower than a diamond with these 2 attributes at the same rating?
-
Ellsbury seems to get me every single time I play against him, I just lost a game where he pretty much single hanedly beat me. 2 hr's and stole a 2 or 3 run homer to end an inning. Him and Tony Gwyn give me a good pounding every time I play against them it seems.
-
This Yordon card crushes. He's slow, so slow. Hes slower than that 37 speed attribute would indicate. But hes free and he hits bombs. 100% worth the occasional gapper he won't get to.
-
Well if you can spend 30-40k, you can get Erik Davis.
He's got 96 speed, 90 plus power and contact for both sides, and has very good defense.
-
I’m using Kenny Lofton, he still gets diamond defense in LF, he covers a lot of ground because of his speed and is a decent bat
-
Lou Brock is a great lead-off hitter for me. And because of his speed he runs down a lot of fly balls despite his silver fielding
-
you must use FS carlson... switch hitter and diamond fielding. hasnt left my lineup since he came out.
-
You didnt mention him but Larry Walker is probably my favorite lefty hitter on the game. Decent speed, and not too much of a liability in LF
-
I use Mickey in left.
I have got the Big Fish in center. He seems to do less of the no urgency animations that would drive me nuts with Mickey. -

Over 90 fielding gets better animations. The higher reaction the better jump you get on the ball.

Get Robert future stars play him in CF move mantle to LF . Babe ruth in RF !

Animations will be better for the diamond. The two cards will however get to the same amount of balls. The diamond is supposed to get the faster animations allowing for putouts and things of that nature.

I see. Makes sense. Thanks.
On a side note. Why does Mantle have diamond defense but in game, he's gold. Is this happening to anybody else?

His actual fielding stat is gold on his base card but his arm and reaction?(not sure about reaction) are diamond which makes him diamond. Cards like ramon laureano are diamond in the menus but he is actually silver shielded. His arm and accuracy are diamond tho.
