Some "unwritten rules" I agree with. Like trying to bunt to break up a No Hitter is straight garbage IMO.

Why exactly? It's a perfectly valid way of getting on base. If it's part of someone's skill set, they should use it. Why take that away? Should pitchers only throw fastballs when their team is up big?

Sorry man, maybe I didn't elaborate this well enough. Bottom of 9th and you are down by more than 2 runs with 2 outs and there is a No Hitter going. You are saying you would bunt because it's your skill set???

You're entitled to your opinion, I was asking why you thought that way.

To answer your question, why wouldnt he be allowed to bunt for a hit. Are batters only allowed to swing for the fences because they haven't had a hit yet? Would it be garbage or bush league to go the other way against a shift too?

Their job is to get on base in any way possible. The pitchers job is to prevent them from getting on base in any way possible.

If someone is good at bunting and is that confident.. go for it but that’s your [censored] if you make the third out bunting in that situation. But with these shifts in modern day ball, might not be a bad idea. Your job is to get on base and to help win the game, not worry about your opponent making history.

No. Doesn’t matter if he hit the grand slam 3-0 or 3-2. Make better pitches

If you don't want to give up a grand slam...don't load the bases!

I guess the baseball gods are toying around with the Rangers. Padres hit a grand slam for the 3rd game in a row last night.

Maybe this has been said, if he grounded into a double play not a word is said.
I have ZERO issue with. These are grown adult, generously paid athletes. Do what you do best.

3-0 bases empty 0 outs take the pitch. 3-0 runners in scoring position with your best hitter up hit a dinger.

I kinda look at it the other way. Take a walk for the run.

As far as Tatis goes, What do you think would have happened if he grounded into a turn after the coach told him to take? He likely would have been in the doghouse. But, If he had the green light I personally don’t care, if it was little league I would have been pissed, at that point you play station to station in the spirit of little league. This is the bigs tho, if he smacked it with a green light who cares.

It's not like he stole a base or bunted. He also didn't throw a touchdown up big at the 2 min warning. This is the stupidest think I ever heard.
