Ozzie was already given a 94 gold glove. Pretty sure SDS has said that an awards, sig or prime card would be the best and last card of a player’s

This is right, pretty sure they did say this.

On a separate note. It seems odd that Paul Molitor will not get a Brewers card this year then. He already has a Jays Awards cards. So maybe they will make exceptions for different teams?

Stop the blasphemy that Ozzie isn’t a good hall of gamer. Defense has always been something that’s a lot harder to measure than offense, but by nearly every account he was the best defender of all time. WAR backs it up (76.9) and his JAWS score is in the top half for hall of fame shortstops.

He was an average to slightly above average hitter and the best defender to ever play the game. He’s a true hall of famer.

Would you consider Andrelton Simmons to be a hall of famer in the Future? Because in half the service time that simmons has played he is almost identical to Ozzie in literally every stat category you can imagine
Roughy 40% of Ozzie in PA, H, Doubles, Triples, RBI. A Better in BA, HR, OPS, OPS+. Almost half the WAR in 10 less seasons. Ozzie in Simmons are as close to identical as 2 baseball players could possibly be. If Simmons can continue to be league Average on offense(basically what he is now) for the next 10 years, you have to put him in the HOF if Ozzie is there right? Wrong. No one sees Simmons as a Future hall of famer.

To be fair, Ozzie’s baserunning was elite and it separates him from Simmons.

But yes, Ozzie and Mazeroski being in the hall opens discussion for great defensive and average offensive players to be elected.

Awards Frankie Lindor & 99 ovr Ozzie Smith...I’m assuming Ozzie will get a 99 ovr eventually. Question is, will it be an inning boss or ducks on the pond? Frankie I’m not so sure if we will see a awards card from him or not but I’m hoping we do.

He won't get anything higher than his 95 nor foes he deserves one.

I actually believe that you really think the word is Frankie.

But it's not. It's Frankly. I know that's what you meant, but I also know that it's not a typo because of the way you spelled it. Just trying to help you out. lol

Yeah the baserunning point is completely fair. I was just proving the point that as far as hall of famers go, it doesn’t get more borderline than Ozzie and Maz. They are they farthest thing from the “inner circle” that you can get as a HOFer

No argument here on the defensive point.

But if you start to try to address defensive prowess into Hall of Fame status, there are countless others like Ozzie and Maz that deserve enshrinement: Keith Hernandez, Buddy Bell, Mark Belanger, Andruw Jones, Vizquel. These were all defensive studs who lacked somewhat offensively (aside from Jones in his peak of course), but they have been overlooked as potential Hall of Famers while Ozzie and Maz have received the benefit of the doubt.

Side note I didn’t look up these players’ WAR and JAWS compared to Hall of Farmer’s like you did for Ozzie so I could potentially be proven wrong.

Lol @ thinking a career sub-700 ops leader is anywhere near "slightly above average"

Are you making joke? I’m confused because “Frankie“ Lindor is what his name is here in northeast Ohio. You know because his name is Francisco lol
