Yeah and swing type was mentioned as a factor but didi has what I consider the best swing, and best do doubt animation with sold power stats to match. And he’s free. Sure the defense is silver not gold and he’s 74 instead of 86 speed but he’s serviceable defensively and not slow. And his bat is far superior, also w didi I love him just as much against lefties as righties. His attributes would suggest otherwise but he has insane power against lefties, it’s that sweet fast swing, taking it to the pullside, seems to activate the no doubt animation more than not if you can be a little early

Yes he will go for that much. when people say “the outfield is already loaded why do we need another outfielder” or “this card won’t make my bench” every content drop, it is because they are waiting on Alomar. With the exception of MLB the dumpster fire 18, Alomar has been a top 5 card in the game every other year.
I can see that you’re a big Alomar fan, but guess what- 108/78 and 118/77 isn’t going to cut it lol.
And if it was 108/80 and 118/80 it would? I promise you if this card was an inning boss again(which I know he wasn’t going to be), you wouldn’t see anyone else at 2B all year. Not once have I justified that his price tag will be worth it.
No, but 85+ on power both sides he would enter the conversation. Contrary to popular belief, this game plays differently year in and year out. So basing your experience on the previous years means nothing with the card, we have wayyyy more options this year at 2B. He’s just not going to cut it for that price in 20
Kinda true, that Alomar pretty much had LS altuve to compete with back then lol. The game is just different now. A one year card isn’t going to match an all time card like Hornsby or a jacked up HRD card like Cano. And 85+ is still lite in my opinion. I’ve been using the Vlad Sr with 84 power and the ball ends at the track all the time. I don’t think bomber does anything and SDS just doesn’t want to go back on there words that slipped on stream.

Underwhelming card, I'm gonna stick with HRD Cano. Rollins stats are better

Smart move, it’s a very underwhelming card, didi is better and 99 tatis POTM, if this is a preview of that card then he would plug into to 2b also

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say he'll have 85ish power versus righties and 80-83 versus lefties. 125 contact vs righties, 105 vs lefties.
His power splits are almost identical to Rollins MVP year. I don’t see how they could give Alomar 80 power based on his 1999 gold glove season.
Well they gave him mid 80s power on the 99 scale back in 17. If you translate that to the 125 scale he would have 100 power. But we both know that's not happening, I think the numbers I mentioned are very reasonable but I guess we'll find out.
Just coming on to gloat a bit that I called it. Essentially Rollins at 2b
For sure. I'm disappointed with his contact numbers as well not gonna lie. This card turned out to be an easy pass for me.
I’m gutted too, you know how I am with Alomar, I’ll buy him anyway, Wagner too, but if this is to be his best card, it’s disappointing. As you mentioned earlier in the thread, the shift from 99 to 125 power scale has ruined cards like Alomar and Rollins, albeit the stats now more accurately reflect the player, which was SDS intention when moving to 125. It’s just that when they give the future stars and so on such juiced stats that they’re probably never going to deserve, a barely useable version of a favourite legend does leave a bitter taste in light of that kind of comparison.

Couldn't have said it better. Angels are my favorite team and Adell seems like he's averaging a hat trick every time I look at the Angels game log.

If your going to juice future stars to insane levels you can at least make a fan favorite have some 85-95 pop

Lol its hard to watch, isn't it? I mean I understand he's getting his feet wet but sometimes he swings it as if he literally started playing yesterday. Like biting on a slider that almost hits the first baseman. I'm sure he'll turn it around, but for now I have been far from impressed as well and I watch every Angels game.
