Be patient. I know it’s beating a dead horse but the CPU ball/strike ratio is excruciatingly frustrating. And the CPU hitters will foul on average 5-8 pitches in two strike counts against you. Be prepared.
-
I'm curious. Is this foul ball issue just on the HOF ones or all 39 moments including AS.

It's actually all games you play the cpu, not just moments, not just DD either.
against the cpu you will get anywhere from 1-4 times a game where they will get a 7-9 pitch AB, usually on an 0-2/1-2 count -

Also, I noticed that the CPU will throw the number one and two pitches more often than not, sit on the one you feel more confident. You might get another here and then, just make sure you foul it and be ready for your pitch.

If you’re playing the cpu and they foul off two pitches in 1-2 or 0-2 counts it’s an easy fix. Throw a change up or breaking pitch if they don’t have a change low enough to be an easy take. Throw a fastball for a strike up and away and they’ll swing and miss 95% of the time.
-
Yes be patient. I won the AL Central one 1-0 due to Hal walking the bases loaded and me sacrificing a run in. I hope the 30 AS ones are more enjoyable.

Yeah that was super annoying. I finished all of the All Star moments but that was ridiculous. Half the time, you could make the hitters look silly and they would chase breaking balls or fast balls would freeze them. Then the other half they have the best eye and never chase anything and foul off like a thousand pitches, all while you pitchers suddenly can't throw strikes.

Just won my second Babe Ruth HOF game easily 7-2 and hit 4 HRs along the way, but yet I can't beat a showdown to save my life.
I was super patient at the plate, still struck out a lot but did draw many walks and obviously hit good pitches out.
Honestly, these are not as hard as we make them out to be and I thought these would be impossible. -
It's really not too bad. But patience at the plate is key, and also loading your lineup with speed and stealing bases and bunting. Just beat final 9 inning Ruth mission by a score of 10-2, and won every game on HOF I played (most by 1 run). I had not played a single game on HOF (EVER before these missions!), since I started playing MLB the show back in 2017, so yes, you can do it......

Is bunt cheeseing just drag bunting with speedy players and aiming to the right before the pitch release?

I would never do that in an online game, but for these, I stuck players like Brock, Lofton, Carew and fill my bench with the likes of Juan Pierre. I drew a ton of walks, stole 2nd and 3rd, then drag bunted and regular bunted to get the run home. You gotta be careful though to pull back, as on HOF, then dont always throw it anywhere near the zone. I still filled the middle of the order with Mantle Trout and Musial, but speed and bunting, along with sinker ballers like Kluber and Rollie was how to win these games.
-
I had Hal up to 100 pitches with 1 out in the 5th. So much for knocking these out quickly. Patience is key though- the CPU is throwing like a 1:1 ball to strike ratio in these moments
-
Maddox, Kluber, and Fingers worked great for this. Also, speed and small ball was essential in some games. Zoomed through all but AL Central kicked my [censored] for awhile. Comeback code was in high gear for a few games. Cheap hits, clutch HRs on weak PCI swings, fielders booting balls, fouling off pitch after pitch even when outside Outer PCI. All the typical tell tale signs you better change your pitcher and/or make a mound visit,

The come back code is hardcore in this. I was about to get a quick 1st inning run with bunting robinson on back and was able to get him to 3rd and finally score. Next inning the CPU his a no doubter on a ball that was pretty much in the dirt. I have had them have missing dives though so it isn't the worst thing. Only team so far to give me issues was AL Central with Hal but he didn't pitch for the Tigers when you play them??
Also some of the teams never pull the reliever. Tampa Bay never pulled Price after he allowed the bases to get loaded.

I do not have that foul ball issue pitching with Orel
-
I’m 64% done, currently stuck on AL Central. The frustration I went thru to beat El Duque and the AL East was almost an all time high. Lol. Patience, something I know I lack, is the key. Any pitching suggestions ? I read someone used Orel with success, any others?
-
Is there a full list of the starting pitchers somehwere? Going to platoon the lineups.

I had Cueto up to 90 by the 3rd and they still wouldn’t warm up a guy until I put one in the stands lol. Cueto walked 8 guys, gave up 2 bombs with 1 being a grand slam
