This is tuff because there should be different baseball movie categories!! Humor! Serious! Romance and so on!
Hard to put a true number 1!
Field of dreams! Is the perfect father son baseball movie! It's near perfect!
The natural is a true dont give up on your dreams!
Major league is a perfect blend of humor and rooting for the underdog story of nobody once was players! Great movie! Great fun.
The sandlot is a great kid movie with a simple story of the love of baseball growing up! Playing sports with your best friends!
Bull Durham might be my favorite baseball movie! Cause I love the hot shot rookie pitcher and the aging old catcher who both need each other to grow and finish there career! It's got romance! Humor but it's just a great baseball movie looking at how it is to be in the minor leagues!
I also love true baseball movies like 8 men out! About the white sox taking money to throw the world series
Mr baseball I also love that movie so much!
Little big league also love this movie! It's a bit far fetched! But has a great story and good message !

Or baseball scene, naked gun all the way

The rookie with Dennis Quaid is also an awesome true story !! About jim morris I think was his name
-
Sandlot and the Natural for sure

Field Of Dreams
A League Of Their Own
Bull Durham
Eight Men Out -
For the Love of the Game. ———Billy Chapel and his quest for perfection against the Yankees. And I really love how they had Vin Scully do the calls for the movie. Chapel pitches against time, against age, against ending, and uses his old arm to "push the sun back into the sky and give us one more day of summer."
That movie is king, but my other favs include Bull Durham, The Natural, and... Fever Pitch. "Johnny Daaamon! You got the sweetest rear in the league!"

Bull Durham
Pride of the Yankees
Bad News Bears -

The fact not a single one of you said The Sandlot is the best baseball movie ever sickens me. The Sandlot is THE best baseball move ever, bar none. Fact.

Fact, I was older than all the kids when that movie came out, if i was a few years younger, i may have liked it more.
I'm an 80s kid not a 90's kid.
I like it, but it is not even close to my favorites, it maybe in the top 10.

I really liked For Love of the Game too. But every time I heard Costner say " Clear the mechanism", I cringe. In all my years of youth, college, and pro ball, I never heard that phrase.
Also, the casting of his Catcher friend was poor. And some of the dialog between them was cringe worthy too.
I liked seeing Augie Garrido as the Yankees coach. Also I think Jim Colburn was in it too, a former coach of mine.

Age will make a difference to current perception. When The Natural came out, I was in college playing ball in So Cal, and it seemed kinda corny to me. As time has gone on, the nostalgia side of me really loves it now.
The Sandlot was fun but not even in the same league as many others IMHO. But then I was in my 30s when it came out. But I could still relate to neighborhood youth ball very well. Just felt the writing and direction not up to par. The Bad News Bears was a similar movie but better casting, writing, and direction.
But its all good. Anything that you enjoy and brings back fond memories is a great thing.

Little big League...you guys should give it a watch. Underrated.
I have a soft spot for that one because I was an extra in several scenes, although I can only spot myself in one.

Bull Durham to me is the best all around baseball movie. It combines all areas comedy, drama, romance, and the best of all feels like it was made by people that know the game compared to other movies.
Can’t believe no one has mentioned hardball, who didn’t shed a tear cause of G-Baby!
Another one guys should check out is everybody wants some!!

Yeah, really. The scene where Paul O'Neill hits a ball to the wall and the player crashes against the wall to make the catch. When McGrevey comes back into the dugout I am in the crowd behind the dugout.
This by the way was filmed in Comiskey at the beginning of November. I am literally the only person who paid attention to the instructions and pretended that the game was being played in summer. I am the only one in a white short sleeved t-shirt. If you watch the scene the crowd is shown very briefly but almost all of them are in long sleeves (or wearing jackets) and dark colors. There were actually snow flurries the day it was filmed.
I also watched the fielder run into the wall over and over, doing multiple takes of the catch. Someone was just lobbing the ball to the wall. It may have even been a fake wall but I can't remember for sure. That was a long time ago.
