I’m an average player at best and I didn’t find it to be too challenging just time consuming. The only one I failed once was the NL East HOF game. The AS games are cake and I just quick pitch through them with a combo of Glasnow, Chapman and Rivera. As many have said I do keep speed on my bench in the case that a game is closed and I need to get in scoring position. But like I said it definitely is a bit of grind time wise

I’m an average player as well. I found it easy but a grind as well. I just can’t stand people complaining about how it is hard to get a FREE Babe Ruth and other stuff

I think they are too challenging. I know they aren’t. And I praise how they released these cards. This program is awesome. Cards are great
However when you rock an online BA of .180-.220 it becomes a grind of crushing losses somewhat similar to a normal Met season.
I couldn’t even win the 9 inning HOF game for Vladdy last year. In 5 attempts
Just grabbed Maddux last night. I figured with his control it may help against the computer. So I’ll give them a go. Hardest one first
Any suggestions on pitchers to use?

Hershiser prestiged has shut them down. Rivera offline is great as well. Per/9’s really matter against the computer. Windups don’t matter against them though

I use the FS Mize but Kluber should work fine. Another thing you can do is follow the catchers suggestion. Whenever I get in spots where I have runners in scoring position I’ll press L2 and see what he’s recommending. More times than not it works

I agree with the bunt and steal strategy. I took out my power guys and subbed in speed guys and I’m playing small ball, just murdering the CPU now on these HOF games.

    Really?
I guess Bunt cheese does work...lol

No not all bunt cheese. Just get on base and steal as much as possible and bunt guys over when the situation calls for it. The CPU will almost always let you score on a ground ball, they will take the out at first. Use players with speed and forget about homeruns. Guys like Jackie will surprise you with some power here and there

If you know how to pitch, small ball works pretty well against the cpu

Don’t bunt for hits, work the count and get walks or swing in hitters counts. Use circle swing if there are two strikes.

    Thanks for the advice.
I went all speed except for Mickey and Stan hitting at 4 & 5. Stan hit two bombs and I pitched well into the 9th. But Wagner shut the door. I had Gagne in the pen, but the way he got roughed up in the event, there was zero chance I was going to put him in a critical situation.

As an average to mediocre player myself who plans on starting this grind tomorrow, what tips or advise can you provide. Not wirrued about the 30 AS ones, but the HOF ones worry me big time.

I’m not a amazing player and these were pretty easy for me and they were also pretty easy for my friend who has half the wins that he has losses so I think there’s no problem with how hard they were

The new Gagne card is basically maxed out in everything that matters vs the CPU.

Same. I’m average and I beat the 9 inning game by being patient, taking pitches, and sitting on middle in pitches. Trout homered and Ortiz homered twice with one of them being a grand slam. Finished the game 6-2

Unless you are spending RL money it is no more free than anything else in the game. Time is money. There is a reason people use the phrase "SPENDING time". That said, I enjoy doing this mission, so it is not too bad at all.

I guess the CPU figured my lead was large enough as it was, that's the only rational explanation I could come up with.

I think the CPU feels sorry for me in the HOF level games. I've played 4, and was behind in all 4. Then I start getting walked, CPU makes silly fielding plays, it grooves a FB down the middle with runners on...

I chalk this up to never complaining about RNG anywhere on this forum, and good, clean living.

I'm not that good but I've done pretty well so far. The one that's irritating me right now is vs AL Central Elites. I've lost twice on just straight BS in the bottom of the 5th. They don't do anything all game and then just start getting dink and dunk hits, my relievers won't throw strikes...yada yada yada. Not to mention all the double plays I hit into. OMG and WTF why am I consistently getting thrown out stealing by a mile with 99 Ricky Henderson on breaking balls.
