2030, but by then he's broken or close to breaking most hitting records but he still doesn't have a World Series victory (sorry Angels)
Will mike trout really still be that good at 38?
It's Mike Trout of course he will. If Pujols can put up good numbers late into his carrer i'm sure Trout will still be great late into his carrer and then Trout Jr can take over where his dad left off a few years down the road after Trouts gone.
Phenols numbers aren’t good. He looks like a slow pitch softball player out there. That contract is killing the Angels.

Never...he will age like a fine wine like Verlander lol

Pujols......[censored] sausage fingers.

Agreed, but Pujols's numbers in his prime were amazing and that's what i think Trout's numbers will look like but well into his late carrer.
I agree Pujols is a shell of what he once was.

Living 20 minutes east of STL, I was 26 years old during Pujols rookie year. I’ve never seen a right handed hitter as good as him. Miggy is the only comparison. If not for a guy named Bonds, Albert would likely have 6 MVP’s. Dude was unreal. His legs are just gone now.

Agreed, Pujols was a killer with the Cardinals, i can't even count how many times he came up huge for them. Plus as far as we know he did it cleanly with no enhancements.
These 10 year + deals never seem to end well though.

The game I’ll never forget was in Chicago in ‘04, Cards were down 8-0 and came back to win. Albert was 5-5 with 3 bombs. Cubs were good then too.

My guitar teacher was his high school teammate

In 2024 he won’t be playing. Drafted into our war against Germany, except this time we’re the fascists.

How old was Bonds when he hit 73?

@SaveFarris said in Mike Trout Goes Gold For The First Time...:
Trout's most similar comps are Stanton and Goldschmidt. Stanton went gold at 30 (though it may well be temporary) and Goldy went gold at 31. Trout hits 31 in 4 years.
2024 isn't the worst guess.
Trout is better defensively than Stanton, and faster, so it will help him hold his value, i was thinking about 37, so 2029

This all depends on Injuries, Take into the fact he Plays CF and Pujols played 1B.

The real question is at what age will he start to DH

2028 he goes gold. Continues to put together some good seasons after that but not diamond level

I made a post last year about Trout nearing the end of his era of dominance and got lit up for it. I still feel that way 100%. Hes a stocky dude who’s already racking up injuries. It’s a huge shame but I think he will have a rapid decline at some point in the next 3 years. I can only think of Pujols and Griffey when I look at him- by age 31 the dominant run was over.
