Most people have noticed the silver bat on the market - the Louisville Maple DJ2 Captain. It's description tells the story of how the bat model was named so after Derek Jeter retired in 2014 after using the bat his entire career.

Eagle eyed players will have also noticed there is a diamond bat called "2k1 Maple" by Sam Bat. In this bat's description it states it's the bat holds the records. 73 HR in a season, 762 in a career, blah blah blah. But it specifically never says Bonds or references him aside from the numbers. Just like when you play RTTS the game never says Pete Rose. The records held by people SDS doesn't hold the rights to are always simply the year of the record and the team they played for.

I'm betting because of the DJ2 bat description and the lack of other names else where in the game that it means SDS have Derek Jeter's rights.

Who else wants a tin foil hat?

    Me and Sam

They couldnt possibly inflate Jeters attributes enough to make him that kind of reward. Clutch only goes up to 125.

Jeter's legendary .210/.338/.306/.644 line with RISP in the postseason redefines clutch

My tin foil hat prediction is it’s Negro Leagues players. Would be incredibly cool, all new cards that people would spend/lock in stubs for, and fits the times.

My normal hat prediction is Mays or Babe is the ultimate reward.

If it is jeter then they would have to give him incredibly unrealistic stats for anyone to do the set. I think it's arod. Everyone would want that card and it's pretty obvious that arod will be one of the steroid guys who actually gets in the game and I also think he will be the first to get in hof.

If it’s Arod, it would probably be the best card ever (besides Pepe) Diamond Fielding, Maxed out hitting, and decent speed

Not to mention it releases on 7.28 and it says "The chase for..." which the Yankees are chasing 28 rings and their rallying cry is "The Chase For 28." Can be any Yankee really.

I think this is the career home run chase and we see Ruth and Aaron. After Aaron who knows what we will see?

I’m regards to Jeter being in this game no. It’s just like what I’ve said before with catchers. Have “captain cards” jeter would fit right in. Like in nba 2k you have certain cards that do well with others. I think there should be an upgraded catcher quirk or stat where it’s framing and pitch calling. People like Molina/pudge would be the best at the moment. Maybe Perez too. And for jeter have him have that quirk where it boosts pitchers confidence when he’s on the field and gives small boosts to stats if the infield he plays around because as “the captain” that’s where he would be the most valuable. IMO.

Yeah no chance I’d exchange my collections for jeter. I’d sell them.
