Thoughts on POTM Hector Neris...
-
After earning Neris, I was hesitant about having a RP that uses a Splitter as his main / strike 1 pitch. Boy was I wrong. I don't think I've seen such as nasty of a splitter as he has. So effective using it for strikes and strikeouts. In 50 IP, I have 97 K, ERA of 0.18 (1 ER) with 1 BS. Pitches better that some 90s level RPs.

My thoughts are is that he is trash.

There’s honestly some gold LS cards better than him. Ken Giles, Kimbrel, Taylor Rodgers to name a few. Nerris isn’t bad but you’ll quickly replace him the more you unlock more free cards

Sorry, but all my pitchers are elite in conquest games too.

He's Hot Garbage wrapped in a dirty Diaper.
-
He looks bad on paper, but I’ve had a tough time against him the few times I’ve faced him in ranked.
-
I have had success with him recently. Added him back after I choked with Rollie Fingers a few times. Moved McGee to my closer and replace Fingers with Neris to use in short relief, and I must say it has worked out well for me thus far. That splitter from Neris has been effective if I tunnel it correctly.
For some reason I struggle pitching with Fingers and then can't hit him either. It is bizarre, no doubt.

Surprised most of you don't like him.

That’s dudes a dumpster fire, even if you are able tunnel him, there isn’t enough of a speed difference between his 95-97 mph fb and his 93-94 mph splitter. And God forbid you hang that pitch Reggie, Mick or any good lefty slugger is going to deposit that trash into upper reaches of the stadium and if you’re playing at Shippett it may just disappear altogether. But hey rock on if you like him but I salivate when I face him.

For me its probably because I have fallen down to the ugly 600's and am facing people who chase pitches more easily. Once I start pushing up again, I may need to switch back to Rollie or someone else.
