How long do you stick with a new card?

Keep trying Davis! This is HOF so it is harder than all-star. Schmidt just has a trash swing in general.
Schmidt IRL was a low ball hitter,so his best zones are down and middle away/up and away, if you don't mind it- practice in cpu games look for down and in and middle away, once you got those spots down it's easy to adjust to other zones.
Btw I struggled with him at first and did that, now he smashes anywhere in zone.Ryno is the same.
now if only I could figure out how to not hit fly balls with Cobb. I'll go 12-20 with him liners galore 2Bs and 3Bs, but then 2-18 cause I hit flies.... -

50 ABs .... still give some chances if their swing path is sweet. I was battinglike .080 with Eddie Mathews ....up to .230 on Hall of Fame.
I absolutely rake with the 92 Mathews. Can’t wait to get the 99. Just another reminder that players don’t play the same for everybody.

Update on Davis...0 for 20, 16 k's But he did draw a walk..LOL
I am a bleep show with quick counts.

I bought Kris Bryant because I’d been struggling with Sheff at 3rd. I have absolutely raked with Bryant’s LS gold card and I love his swing.
I get this sick looking juiced up Bryant and can’t buy a hit. When I do feel like I got it it’s getting caught on the track. Worst start I’ve had with a card, batting like .188 with 1 HR.
So he’s going on the market tonight.

At this rate Davis is going to be 0 for 50 with 42k's..LOL

2 games lol. Kinda unfair but if you can’t do anything right away to make an impact for me you probably never will anyway haha so I rather just move on. I like great starts and impressions
-
Generally I say 100 AB's. But if the card feels like you can't or don't want to adjust to their animations/swings, no reason to keep them.

My EXACT experience except 0 HRs. Although I’m not giving up on him yet.

100 ABs for me too. Except if it’s a Giants player. Then I never give up on the card. I still drop Mac Williamson’s FA card into my squad from time to time. Forever Giants.
-
100 ABs for me. But I have a long leash when it comes to things like this and will spread those ABs over a couple weeks/months.
-
Prob 50-100 ABs, but I think it depends on the player, too. Don't know why but I'm really struggling to hit with Larry Walker (though his last couple of games has been better so hoping he's snapping out of it), but he's getting a longer leash because of his defense, I'd probably have moved on by now if he was weak in the field.
Here's a related question, what if you suck online with a card but rake with the same player offline at the same difficulty. Realize that the approach/gameplay can be quite different, just wondering if it ever affects people's thinking.

But you know what’s interesting is the 92 Gwynn I hit about .350 with him and in 25 AB’s with the 99 Gwynn I got 2 hits... it’s all trial and error. Every card plays different for every person. Last year Chipper was one of my best hitters and this year the 94 version I was batting .188. It’s crazy how things can change
-
Anywhere from 50-100ABs. I know how you feel with Schmidt. I'm a diehard Phillies fan and hes the first stage 3 TA I unlocked. I just couldn't it with him. Last night I finally sold him, put Chipper back at 3rd, did some card flipping, and bought Big Papi. First game 2/4 2HR 3RBI his swing is so smooth.
-
My problem with evaluating cards is that I'm not very good at the game, so I have trouble figuring out when I'm struggling because of the card and when I'm just being outplayed.
