In order to compare statistics, you need all circumstances to be exactly the same which is obviously never the case in baseball. Be it the ballpark, the pitcher, the wind, the humidity, the baseballs themself. There are simply too many uncertain factors in baseball to compare stats head on.

Glad you admitted you don’t know why he wasn’t included. That was the point
-
You didn’t make a point about WAR you copied and pasted parts of the formula.
-
Go get your last word. I am bored with you
-
That wasn't my point - you specifically stated that wRC+ is a derivative of WAR
-
I didn't attempt to make a point about WAR. I simply demonstrated that wRC+ is not a derivative of WAR unlike incorrectly asserted by you.
He's basically a self glorified troll, not worth the time when he's insisting on never being wrong and nit picking every argument for pointless issues
It’s weird to me why people have such an issue with other people having a different opinion. Nobody is wrong about an opinion. However, regarding statistics i will freely admit part of the problem is the way that I am communicating. I could go Into a very detailed description (NOT copy and paste) of why WAR and wRC are going to always have a strong correlation. But to be honest that would take a long detailed write. based on the copy paste skills used to justify the ubiquitous use of sabermetrics it would either go over the heads of those I am communicating with. Especially, because some of these dudes have never taken a single class in statistics it makes it difficult for them to see beyond something that is new and fresh.
Btw...what is a self glorified troll. If you are going to go out of your way to insult someone have it make sense
Again you felt the need to overstate your own knowledge and resort to insults.
No one has said that wRC+ and WAR don't use some statistics that are the same as a foundation. What I said, specifically, is that wRC+ is not a derivative of WAR. This is a fact.
These two metrics are also differentiated because they both serve a different purpose. More importantly - Joe Carter is average based on both these advanced metrics.
Oh, i am sorry. I thought we were done. Didn’t you get in your last word? Do we need to go back and forth about this. Are you done now. Or do you really want to debate the stats? Before we do I just need to know if you have ever taken a single college math or stats course? Or have you had to use statistical analysis in any professional manner? If not I am not going to bother it would be like explaining lightning to a baboon.
If you have cool make a thread where we can discuss the merits and weakness of various stats.
Again, I'm not talking about pro/against any advances metric right now.
I am saying that wRC+ is not based on WAR, which is what you asserted. Prove me wrong.
Like I said. Let me know if you have EVER taken a stats course in college or like a total of 9 credits in math, research methods, or stats. or used statistical analysis in any professional context. If so...we can private chat if you are worried about being embarrassed or make a thread and others can get involved if you need help.
Otherwise stop trolling because the depth of the conversation is beyond you. And people complain about derailed threads around here.
Hint: the mere fact that those two stats are the entire basis for him being just average in your mind should really speak to you about the validity of the stat
Yes, I have and no, I'm not embarrassed. Dazzle me.
Guys, better prepare - we're about to witness something truly extraordinary, something that most commoners will simply be unable to comprehend.
Cool open up the thread and start a convo about the merits of sabermetrics. Start talking and I can respond. But if we are being honest. I am it responding if you continue to use cut and paste knowledge.

Sabermetrics is using some complex statistical analysis. Possibly too complex. And for most people not only do they not understand HOW some of them are conceived but the underlying principles that go into it.
For example being that you wanted to comment. Please answer the following
-
What is the TOTAL formula used to determine WAR.
-
What statistical procedure are used and why.
-
What are some principles used to determine which procedures to use.
Most people including yourself can’t answer that
Here is the formula for WAR
I've already shared the formula for wRC+.
Now show me how wRC+ is BASED on WAR (not just use some of the same components).

Metrics like wRC+ are the best possible tools we have. In the grand scheme of things, weather does not play much of a factor. Even then, park adjusted stats take that into account along with park dimensions, etc.
When comparing defensive metrics, and often WAR, you’re usually limited to comparing same position players.
You don’t need all cirucumstances to be the same to compare statistics. The main situations that comparing base stats isn’t helpful is when one player plays at Coors and one doesn’t (which is why we use wRC+) or when they play different positions if you’re looking at defensive metrics.

Well this is the thing. Sabermetrics professes to do that. You can attempt to account for a reasonable amount of those things. But in doing so you have to make sure that your method of doing that doesn’t create other problems. Or that the decision made as to what needs to be accounted for is a sound judgement and that is where stats which are suppose to be objective numbers start to become subjective.
Too many sabermetrics dudes don’t realize this and think the numbers are in fact objective when they are not

Your Copy paste skills are next level. Yeah but to truly understand it you need to explain or at least understand the how the component variables are created and the reason why. Do you understand league adjustment. Why are those stats added. Do they have equal bake and how do you know this. If not should there be a coefficient.
Whatever dude, you have no idea clearly. But please talk amongst yourselves. You all seem to have a clue.

wRC+ uses weighted runs above average and league averages but to say that because it uses those it is therefore based on WAR and the entire summation that makes up WAR is a ridiculous statement.

You don’t seem to understand that if you only know how to plug the number in without understanding the underlying operations and why they are relevant than you Don’t know why a number is relevant or what it’s measuring.
For example mean, median and mode are all methods to find central tendency in a data set. But understanding when each is relevant to use is as important as knowing what numbers to plug in. If you took a basic stats class you would understand that.
