Has to be the worst show I’ve ever played

Crazy how many people that make posts like this didn't play 18
-
it's a constant rat race for the next good card.
This is what the show is turning into, same as MUT. It's the reason why we have like four Sixto Sanchez cards, even though he's done nothing in the MLB to deserve that

What's funny is it's not even one of those "difference of opinion" type of discussions. Its unanimous, 18 was hated by [censored] near everyone.

I’ve played every mlb the show since 15. This one is bad especially with pitch location
-
Bring back the show 16. Cards were more rare (no SS or god cards for every above average player), everything was based off skill not randomness, oh and they had the rights to a rod Beltran Mauer and Hamilton. Bc they were still in the league lol

It's a you thing. The only people that would agree with you are the others salty that this years game exposes trash players.
you are absolutely right mate

This game is why I own a PS4
Same here.
But that doesn't take away the fact that RS gameplay is still horrendous as ever.

That's hilarious.
The only people who would agree with you are predominantly CPU players, and not online RS players. Sure, they may have scratched the surface in online RS games, but that's not their thing. In your case, you haven't played a single RS game.
You only play CPU on Rookie level. You must really enjoy playing Rookie level knowing that you will dominate every single game because there is absolute ZERO competition playing on that level with real rosters and no all diamond teams. That's facts.
And yet, you want to tell the poster that, "it's a you thing." Now that's funny. LMAO.

Confirmed. It's a YOU thing

Someone came back and beat me when I was leading. Two choices: (1) I lost, (2) the game is rigged against me. All my comebacks are legit, btw, just my losses are rigged.

Honestly if they'd just fix check swings and the frequency of hanging pitches I wouldn't have any issues with this year's game in it's current state. Check swings, I'm seeing 2-3 per at-bat and these are always very early/very late swings. It's the biggest reason I'm so bored with the game cause it's always who can check swing the most and get a FB.
I don't like the pitches not going where they are supposed to but I will say the fielding has gotten better the fielders will actually lock onto the ball

You haven't confirmed anything, lmao.
If there is such a thing as a 'trash player,' I would think that they would exist in the pool of players where they only dedicate themselves to play against the CPU on the easiest Rookie Level. And not because they agree with the poster.

so I will say this im not amazing at the game slightly above average. Like maybe 15-20 games above .500, and yes the game is bad some of my losses shouldn't have happened but thats Baseball for you. Improbable things happen all the time. Early and Late swings don't mean a thing the only thing it will affect is where the ball is hit (i have played baseball for 20 years and I've personally hit HRs on balls i was way out in front of or way late on) it happens. But I still agree the game is way to RNG based. However you all have to remember SDS was on lock down just like all non essential workers and its very difficult to fix coding issues when communication isn't reliable. We had a lot of the same issues last year but they got fixed some what. And also im not a coder nor do I know anything about designing or coding a game however it seems like the amount of coding that would go into a game like this is drastically more complex and difficult than the coding for Madden or any other sports game. RNG has to be a thing because random stuff does happen in real life Baseball. This concludes my rambling for the evening lol have a great night/day and stay safe

Going along in a game shutting my opponent down, then the very late hits, choppers in front of the mound leading to runs and baserunners. Not allowed to throw towards a base with a runner stealing. Guy has THREE choppers that he swung over top of go for hits, and were automatically triples because I could throw on his steal attempts. He hit another chopper with a guy on third down the first baseline. Bellinger charged it and fields it cleanly. I press X, nothing happens. I press X again and he throws it, but it's too late, run scored. Then a home run on a pitch way out of the zone. I hate this game.

Everyone is ignoring clutch ratings. Clutch factors into 7th inning on and runners on base. Not many pitchers have a high clutch rating. A lot of batters have high clutch rating. So of course they will get more hits later on. It’s not comeback logic if it is clearly built into the game.
Maybe actually focus on all the stats on a card and not just contact/power and how mph a fastball is

Nah, maybe that could be a little of it, but the only version of this game that sucked more was 18.

I’ve accepted the rng aspects of the game. I’ll tell myself that I’m going to blow the lead in the 8th or the 9th, and that’s ok. What bothers me, though, is that I can’t get a consistent game play experience online. I can’t improve my timing on a fastball if the timing window fluctuates from fastball to fastball. I can go practice on legend all day long, but it just does not translate. I guess the fluctuating pitch speeds are from the connection quality between me and my opponent, so I don’t know how to fix it. I know some might argue that it’s just my perception and that pitch speeds don’t fluctuate so drastically, but I don’t feel that’s the case. I’ve played this game long enough to know (theoretically) when to swing for good contact. Or maybe I don’t. Who knows. All I know is that Im super late on some fastballs that I don’t “feel” late on, and sometimes I’m early on the same pitch that I don’t “feel” I’ve done anything differently on.
