I really like @hunchoputt ’s avatar on here. It’s made me think a lot about how cool zebras are. Imagine having one as a pet (I’ve looked into it since seeing his/her zebra pic). You wake up, grab a cup a coffee and see a zebra just chillin in your yard.
Maybe instead of thinking about what you like about online play, think about what other things this game or forum has lead you to think about. For me it’s my love of zebras and now wanting to buy one for $7,500.

Catcher blocking is severely underrated as an aspect this year. It made me completely forget how random and stupid it was last year. Such a huge improvement.

Honestly, showdown has been a great addition to the game. Yes the mode does have its issues but as a whole I think it’s great and has helped me and I’m sure many others improve on hitting. I think it really made you focus on patience and trying to get your pitch and I think it’s translated a lot to online play. People seem to take a lot more this year and have better eyes at the plate and I think showdown taught a lot of people how to read balls off the plate

haha.....love the idea of the Hunchoputts with a Zebra logo. Agree on the merch too! I would almost guarantee that you sell some hats and shirts with that logo. Look out Nike, the Zebra is on it's way.

90% of the time the game is fun. 10% of the time the game feels scripted and outcomes are arbitrary. When the 10% happens at the wrong time it can ruin the game.
I took a break and accepted that the game isn't perfect and stopped taking it seriously. I still get mad when my opponent dinks and dunks and I'm slapping hard line outs. Its whatever. I still like it a lot more than Madden and 2k currently.
More like 90% scripted, 10% fun.
IMO, it's only a fun game when pitch accuracy goes your way; you get rewarded for good timing/pci with hits; opponent is not constantly rewarded for bad timing hits; AI baserunning doesn't work against you.
How often does this happen? 10% is generous. Even when you go on mini 5, 6-game win streaks, it's stressful having to break through all these barriers just to get the win, even when you get dashboarded. But when these barriers work collectively in a game, you go on 3,, 4-game losing streaks.

Hall of Fame, the amount and variation of content they've put out... yes including FS, the amount of rewards they've put into the game - I was able to get mantle NMS in May by just playing the game.

Tbh, and this is going to sound really cheesy, but it is true. It is some of the relationships that I have begun to build and the friendships I have made that would not have happened without a mutual love/hate (lol) of this game.
The fact that I spend time talking to different people about anything and everything, including baseball has been the thing I love about this game the most.
The game can go and suck an egg most days. Leagues are fun.
Oh, and a good discord is where it's at, not this forum.

The lack of real issues with the game is great. I remember when this game had frequent freeze offs and disconnects, lag that affected the game was common, games, hunts and steals being crazy tough to stop even when you expected them, too many IF hits caused by fielders moving too slowly, bronze and diamond fielders played too similarly, contact hitters were pretty much unusable, nobody would strike out in ranked seasons games, and probably more that I'm forgetting.
This game has some issues, but most of what I just listed was worse than anything we have wrong now in my opinion so I think 20 has the best gameplay experience yet.
