Depending on your tv’s specs, a monitor isn’t the be all end all. My 50” Samsung has 21ms of input lag in game mode while my Asus monitor is 10ms. Now if your tv sucks or doesn’t have game mode then a monitor isn’t a bad purchase as you can get something good for under $200. I have the Asus 24” VG 245h and it is a nice monitor for the price.

I have game mode on my tv yes.. how would i find the MS time for that mode ?

There is big differences between Tv and monitors if you spend the same amount on each of them. People take a $500 dollar tv in game mode and compare it to a $200 dollar monitor....Not fair comparisons.

Get a BENQ RL2455 or RL2755, difference being 24"/27". They're relatively cheap but perform great. Keep in mind that they will probably not be a good investment for the next gen consoles tho, because it's 60Hz and doesn't support 4K.
I've bought mine years ago, but if I would buy a monitor today I would probably drop some more cash to make sure I'm good to go for the next generation consoles. But of course that's your decision to make.

Yes but many people don’t want to play on a 24” screen. Spending $500 gets them a tv they can use for gaming and watching tv.

I totally understand that but if they are buying something strictly for gaming, when people offer suggestions they shouldn’t compare a $200 monitor to a $500 dollar tv. Compare apples to apples.
