I've started hitting lefties much better, before the event, with him. As far as power, it's odd, but it seems like he only pulls the ball with power. It's almost like he loses his power ratings when he hits to center or right center.
-
I couldn't hit with Sheff at all for a long time, so I put him on the bench, then just took him out of the squad when I couldn't even PH with him, but I kept hearing everyone talk about how good he was so I moved him back in the lineup, and he's starting to mash, just give it time and keep him in the lineup, he'll come around, it's usually a liner up the middle or a pulled bomb, but it's coming far more consistent now.

This is how I feel about Reggie...
Sheffield destroys everything for me. Easily my best hitter... Weird -
But a censored ain't one.

Certain swings just work better for certain people. The card attributes obviously matter but the swing animation is almost as important. I’m not great with Sheffield either. I think it has something to do with him crowding the plate and all the movement. Other cards that should play way below something like Sheffield are great for me. Whether it’s a quicker swing or just being off the plate more etc. I have quite a few cards that I’m hitting over 400 with primarily on hof and legend and almost none have as good a set of attributes as Sheffield.
-
I heard a lot of people say you have to swing earlier than usual with Sheff’s swing. I’m not someone who can adjust like that though, that’s probably why I struggle.
-
I am still slightly over .300 batting average with him, but I'm not sure how. I feel like I never get hits with him until I say it's his last game then he hits a 3 run homer late in the game.
-
I play Reggie over him
-
Sheff is a slappy singles hitter in the event for me. only had him about a week
-
He’s my favorite hitter. Was batting .386 with him on hof and legend with over 300 abs. Now with this event on all star, he’s pushing .420! I guess some swings work for certain people
-
I have a feeling it’s the crowded plate stance. He’s been a disappointment for me and that stinks considering he’s one of my all time favorite players.

Ya, I've basically took Reggie off the squad completely. Everything is either late or just flyouts to the track.. I gave up..
It took me about 50 ABs of struggling with Sheff, but now... Oh man.. might be the best hitter I've ever used in any year..
-
I've read other people say to pull inside pitches for power and it does work...I'm batting like .276 with him and 12 homeruns and 24 rbi in like 100 somethin ABs
-
I go through extreme hot and cold spells with him unfortunately this event seems to be included where I've had his batting average drop to the .230s and currently he' somewhere in the .370s for me thanks to multiple 4 and 5 hit games
-
I started off great with Sheffield, Mantle & Biggio. All 3 were over .330 and lots of power. But here in the last month it’s been all downhill.
Hitting about .270 with Mantle. But he still hits extremely well I just get a lot of those good swings for outs with him.
Hitting about .260 with Biggio and suddenly he can’t check a swing for nothing. I get tons of weak hits with him. He’s in a huge slump.
Down to .210 with Sheffield and no end in sight. He’s just an out every time. No matter if it’s weak, good, squared up or perfect it’s an out for him everytime
I’m going to take Biggio & Sheffield out of the lineup and try other cards

I have struggled to hit for power with Sheffield (solid average). I have considered trying to change my swing timing with him a bit. To this point, he has been an up-the-middle singles hitter for me. However, he has been really good at 3rd for me (pleasant surprise).

Sheff hits inside pitches for power. Quick swing. Mantle swings like the bat weighs 100lbs.
-
Hitting with him turns the game into tee-ball
