I don't necessarily believe this to be true, but just an interesting theory I developed.

What if Babe Ruth is this years Honus collection?

Put him as a 2-way player to fully utilize him. SDS would need to (hopefully at least) change his windup and ideally pitch selection because Ruth hasn't been great on the mound before. But if SDS does it right, then having a solid pitcher with maxed hitting stats, LF, RF, and 1st base would potentially be the most valuable card in the game.

    Thoughts?

His god awful pitch selection would make him awful as a pitcher. Plus his wind up takes forever. If he's the new Honus, Just give us a 99 Prime Babe that has 1b has a secondary.

That's why I said they would need to change those things up. If he were to end up being the final big collection I seriously doubt he'd get another 99 that is far less expensive to come by.

Considering he was the best lefty pitcher during his early years, a 99 pitcher version has validity. For me, hes the ultimate, so I hope hes available through innings or TA.

He had a WAR of 8.8 in one of his two full seasons as a pitcher. That is higher than a lot of CY winners in the last 20 years. He was the best left handed pitcher in MLB. He was great.

I’ve wondered about the major collection reward. Could totally see it being Babe or Griffey, generally the two most sought after guys. Plus Griffey already has a 95 if people don’t want to do the collection.

That said, I’d rather this not be the case.

I agree with the user that mentioned that the Honus card is the most expensive/revered/famous of all, so it makes perfect sense for Honus to be the hardest to get.

The World Series brought the best out in Ruth on the pitcher's mound. He pitched 29 scoreless innings, a World Series record that would stand for 42 years. His World Series record was 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA. Ruth posted 67 career wins by 1917, his last season as a full-time starter, at the age of 22

It’s all speculation at this point if we even get a collect all reward like last year.

I hope not. I didn’t love Wagner last year but it was a brand new card that did everything well. Personally for me he didn’t end up as my end game ss but still definitely a fun card. Babe is the best hitting card in my opinion but a defensive liability and everyone had him last year. I’m hoping for somebody new this year. I think babe would be a bit of a letdown after honus was such a surprise last year.

Make it a LF primary with 125 across the board and I would be happy. I wouldn't want him a 2-way player, sds does not know how to utilize them properly.
