99s Coming in 5th Inning
-
Please sweet Baby Jesus, let it be Clemente or Aaron
-
My predictions:
Freddie Freeman
Bruce Benedict
Biff Pocoroba -
New 99 legend for the 5th inning? Perhaps a famous #5? Joe DiMaggio seems like a long shot but some other famous #5s are Lou Boudreau, Hank Greenberg, David Wright, and Nomar
-
It doesn’t say new legend. It says “hidden legend reveal.”
Who know what that means really? It could mean a new legend. It could simply mean a legend that doesn’t have a card yet this year (and maybe is not in those longball bomber teams). Who knows?

What new legend is good enough to be a 99 but not good enough to be announced pre-release for marketing purposes? I can’t really think of any at this point
David Ortiz. My guess is they only mean new legend for the program.
They said new hidden legend meaning someone who hasn’t been revealed yet
O well that is interesting, Manny Ramirez? Randy Johnson? Exciting.
Both of those guys would be revealed pre-release. My best guess would be a Mike Mussina/ Andy Pettite level pitcher would be this new one
We don’t know that they wouldn’t release a new, big name right now. Sure, it would make marketing sense to announce it before the game. But we don’t know if they wouldn’t do it now too? They did Honus last year mid year. Granted Honus isn’t a huge name but he is one of the better players in history and he wasn’t announced until midyear.
They could announce a big name now and promote the heck out of it and maybe get more sales with people still being cautious about going out.

It’s Pedro. Confirmed in my daydreams.

Since there won't be any real MLB this year, I wish for... Sadaharu Oh
His card would be awesome - https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=oh----000sad

Please be Randy or Pedro.

Mo Rivera Bank it. It says new legend I don't think that means it's someone that hasn't been released yet. He is a new legend this year and should definitely get a 99 but maybe I am looking at this wrong
I NEED Rivera I feel like this would be a better time to release him rather than later in the year.

You guys are naming off such good players. Following future stars, and 4th inning bosses, I expect it to be someone not even close to worthy of a 99. Mark Whiten, Milton Bradley, Kent Tekulve, Jaime Navarro or even Jose Lind.
-
Knowing SDS, one of them will be Spencer Torkelson.

Actually Jim Thome makes a lot of sense for a few reasons, he's the only player not in MLB the show 20 that is a part of the 2018 hall of fame plus we havn't had a first base boss since Todd Helton in the first inning.
This might be right. I saw something on twitter than Jim Thome’s batting stance was added to the game.

You haven’t heard? Spider-Man is gonna be in the game. He’ll probably be a henchman though, no way is the Tobey Maguire version a 99.

99 Hoyt Wilhelm, a knuckleball relief pitcher with control and stamina.
