Ok seriously, I understand that a player’s power attributes play into the hit outcome, but how does a perfect line drive with 108 mph exit velocity turn into a routine fly ball?

I just hit one with Tim Anderson potm for a lazy fly ball and the very next batter, Didi potm also hit a perfect line drive, also 108 mph exit velocity, except it left the yard.

Something is just not right, regardless of power attributes. 108 mph off the bat is 108 mph off the bat. Does Tim’s 108 mph slow down in the air somehow because of his lower power number? That is not how physics works.

    Just saying.

No, just a regular conquest game.

I often wonder how the physics of the game work. I also often wonder if any of the developers have played baseball beyond tee ball. I have the same issue and then the cpu will hit a good good for a 322 foot homer. It's odd. I try not to get too po'd about any specific out or string of plays, because I'd probably never play again if I did..

Tell me how conquest is not offline play? Wind is most definitely a factor in conquest games.

Sorry man, I misread your comment. Sure, I suppose wind could change from one batter to the next. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Strictly physics speaking, not defending the game, but the exit velocity is measured right when the ball leaves the bat. In reality the exit velocities could be the same, and if a ball has backspin it will carry a lot further then an upper cut swing with some topspin to it.

How that could be programmed into a video game is beyond me, so I would chalk it up to the randomness of outcomes we get, and is getting pretty annoying.
