If every pitcher was available all time, all rated 99, who would be in your starting 5?
Mine is:
Roger Clemens
Vida Blue
Randy Johnson
Roy Halladay
Barry Zito ( totally doesnt stack up with the rest of my list but hes my all time favorite A, great personality and really fun to watch guys flailing at his curve)The whole A's Big Three was fun to watch, I got to watch all of them play for the Canadians (Vancouver) from the minors up to when they won 20 games at one point for the A's. I'll never forget the run they went on in 2002.
Zito was a beast, his 2002 season is one of the best I've ever seen. 23 wins, 2.75 era, 180+ strikeouts
-
Sandy Koufax
Cy Young
Walter Johnson
Tom Seaver
Greg Maddux -
Randy Johnson
Nolan Ryan
Roger Clemens
Greg Maddux
Pedro Martinez -

For me it was Roger Clemens in 1986 24-4 2.48 era 248 K's whip 0.96 Boston should have won that WS. He was 23 years old

Being during the height of the steroid era makes it all the more impressive..
But I hear ya, he was the rocket as a 23 year old. Blowing heaters past dudes...As a Jay he truly became a pitcher, blowing fastballs by guys, while pitch sequencing and dotting splitters.. he also had some help in the training room, if you know what I mean..
