Its not the game its the online community dumbing down The Show, its getting easier and easier every year....little no talent casual kids complain that the game is too hard so SDS has to dumb it down more. That's why SDS should release two versions of the show, a DD version and a Simulation/Franchise version.
You offline guys sound like a boy band comprised of castrated males.
And this is an example of why a lot of people don't play online - you think your better than a offline player and it's not worth dealing with it. You could be #1 in the world but how does anyone know it's not because you exploit every glitch/lag/crappy animation to get there? Why talk down to someone for their opinion? It's unnecessary and unproductive
Online players are usually hacks and scrubs that loves having their hands held, can you imagine these noobs play Ninja Gaiden or Contra back in the NES days? They would flip out and throw their NES out the window.
I would've whipped you in Baseball Stars too! You're far to assumptive Joshua.

Online and offline there are a multitude of problems. Fielding is still inconsistent at best, pitching is a roll of the dice and the outcomes on hitting have very little to do with user input. The only people that don't think there is a problem are either very special or named Josh, in some cases, both.
And before dopey draws has his say on this particular post, he tweaks the games to his liking through sliders, doesn't play online so can't accurately defend or malign the game on both fronts.
This game had so much promise. I'll buy next year's version on ps5, but won't continue to do so if they keep taking one step forward and three steps back each iteration.
-
For me, the pci size is not the problem, but rather, the pitches on the edges not called strikes, the difficulty/inconsistency of locating pitches in general, and the check swings.
These together make a batter who is fooled still be able to prolong an at bat until a mistake pitch comes along.
There must really be some impasse with the hitting for the pitching and bad defense to be like it is.

Man, I played both those games so much, beat contra ( Konami code baby) and got to the last level in ninja garden but loved it. People would lose their minds now if it was the old one hit/your dead way it used to be and you only had 3 lives or you restart the ENTIRE game from the start. Imagine if you lost 3 times in DD and your roster was reset and lost everybody you had earned lol
This should be an alternate DD mode.

I would've never given offline guys a hard time but Joshie likes to chime in on DD conversations calling online guys casuals and noobs(name calling) . I dont exploit anything. I dont dashboard(rage quit). I dont pitch multiple starters in the same game. I just enjoy the competition.
If you don't do those things why are you playing online?, you show signs of a true baseball player, you should be playing Franchise like the rest of the chosen ones. Come to our side, where there is no hot pockets or red bulls, where we can climb up a flight of stairs without being winded, where we don't have a goatee and have cut our hair in the past 2 months...come over to us.

The problem is just having a PCI, why is there a PCI?, do you miss Duck Hunt?

Same as every year, connections. Seems a little worse this year with the pandemic and everyone being on the internet.
Magically, the same people are 250-20. Must be a fun game to play on their internet. Clubbing baby seals every game hitting slow pitch softball. So glad I can hit 120 mph fastballs and sinkers to make their experience so enjoyable.

Your outfielders likes to watch the ball bounce 3 inches in front of him instead of bothering to catch it or they like to let it bounce off their stupid face.
The best is the time it takes to retrieve the ball afterwards... I mean it’s bad enough when it happens , but circling around the ball trying to pick it up for 5 seconds is even more frustrating.

Or when it's tapper in front of the plate and your catcher just runs by the ball instead of picking it up, over and over lol. The Benny Hill theme should just start playing on these plays, at least then you know the games screwing you

Everyone complains. People usually go with something along the lines of “this game sucks” and leave it at that, but what, specifically, is your number one issue with this years game that makes you not want to play and you would fix at the expense of all others? Just one and be civil and realistic please, it’s not a spew random hate at SDS thread, this is a genuine question, so I’m hoping for genuine replies.
I’ll start off with my personal most hated issue at the minute, which is that PCI is far too big and affords batters far too much opportunity to make contact on pitches way out of the zone. I often feel I have nowhere to go to get a swing and a miss when pitching and this is my number one complaint at the moment.
Agreed. I get it but also why this is steroid era ball lol We've been asking for some of these guys.

I have made this same comment before on a different forum and didn't go so well.but I definitely agree dd should probably be its own game so that the simulation/franchise game actually gets the attention, upgrades and new features it desperately needs and deserves....I use to be all about franchise in the show especially after you could carry it into the next game every year so you didn't have to restart it,but once I saw they were never going to give it the upgrades and new features it needs I stopped playing franchise an just do dd because it's the only thing they focus on every year now, which is fine but not at the cost of franchise...it's just sad
That’s why I stick with older versions ...

Let me guess that site was Operations Sports?, its like a church in there, one little hint of a creative wise crack comment and you're banned, that site has more rules than a North Korean prison camp. Obviously with my creativity and wit I'm not allowed in there :). Anyways yes, SDS needs to release an online noob fest for DD guys and a Simulation/Franchise for men and real baseball fans that want a challenge.

C’mon man, they’re not trying to simulate the ‘90s, they just lost sight of how to balance hitting and pitching. In years past, you could pitch to an ERA below 3.00 with your best pitchers, while maintaining a BA above .300 with your best hitters. With almost half the year gone now, we’ve yet to see anything approaching that kind of balance in ‘20. The pendulum has swung wildly from everyone having an ERA over 10.00 and batters hitting .400, to everyone batting .200 and striking out 15-20 times per game, now back to pitching being largely irrelevant and the game being a home run derby again.
This is all my own personal opinion and your own experience may differ, but I’d be surprised if more than a few people aren’t nodding their heads reading this post, because not only has the game been consistently inconsistent this year, it’s also been consistently unbalanced and broken. Steroid era ball this week, sure. Maybe I dead ball era next week. Big wheel keep on turning.

Biggest issue is pitches that go STRAIGHT down the middle. I'm not going to say I'm getting perfect perfect and it happens, but missing ever so slightly and it's dead in the middle. I use analog pitching and I don't quite understand why, but randomly the pitching just seems off. Especially in the events. All of a sudden I can't throw a fastball for a strike. I'm either way inside or outside, or it's right down the middle.
The way I know it's off is because when that starts happening, if I try to throw a different pitch, like say a slider, that with a straight up push on the right stick would cause it to break perfectly to the outside, it doesn't go straight up anymore. It starts going inside so that it breaks right down the middle!
I get what they are trying to do, they are trying to make the game more accessible and more runs scored, and making pitching "mistakes" more hittable. But they are going about all wrong. If they want to make pitches that aren't perfect input have a higher hit chance when good/contact is made that's fine. But still make the batter have to move the pci and see the ball. Don't make it just magically go right down the middle and be a near automatic homerun. Cuz that makes my non centered pci perfect perfect outs and singles look even worse

Just lost an events game, easy pop up to 3rd basemen. Got under it for a catch I could have made with my feet.. However, my third basemen thought it would be better to casually play it on a hop.

Sometimes I think it would be better if they just had your player trip over his own feet and fall down, Jose Canseco the ball into the stands for a homerun, something ridiculous just so at least you could get a laugh out of it
