It always makes me laugh whenever the first baseman does it, even though if it was fair my runner would be out easily. Like, wouldn’t you want it to be fair and just tag the runner?

MLB fielders dont miss, picking up the baseball, half the time when charging a roller and it is going 17 mph like on the game either. And relief pitchers dont all drop there gloves as they get to the mound.

Last year a guy posted this, but the ball was fair. I haven't seen any posts about that this year.

Lol, if the stupid CPU forced my fielder to knock a fair ball into the dugout I’d probably burn the entire universe to the ground.

I ran out of fielders once and wound up with a left handed thrower at 3b. A bunt was laid down and as it rolled into foul territory the animation kicked in and he actually swept it back into fair territory. Good for a chuckle.

I'm not an astrophysicist, but I'm pretty sure there would be a lot reasons why that would not be possible. I think I get what you're saying, though.

Batting the rolling foul ball has been in the game for how many years now? At least seven I’m thinking. Taking it out could cause some other problem so best to leave it in until either removing it becomes absolutely necessary or the whole thing is rebuilt.

This has been in the game for years and idk why. I’m pretty sure at least that if you touch a live ball while it’s still fair and it goes foul it should count as fair. I’ve never seen this is the MLB and have never experienced it when playing on organized teams. If this was allowed no one would watch balls roll to see if they would go foul, they would just hit it foul! But for some reason I’m this game it’s allowed

I was never a corner infielder (always a catcher) but i never once in all my years playing heard a coach instruct a fielder to do this. It just seems like there is no upside when compared to just touching the ball in foul territory or even fielding it like a normal human.

I will say that I have only really seen it in the last ten years or so. It is an exercise in futility as yes, as you say all you have to do is touch the ball as soon as it crosses the foul line.

In bunts to third on a lefty shift by the bag the announcer says it’s a foul ball yet u get rewarded first base The ball stays fair too at least when this happens

As funny as it would be, most people don't want to see the fielders whipping their balls all over the field lol
