People spend their money the way they want to.

I enjoy a nice bottle of wine, a nice watch, or limited release whiskey.

If nobody bought them, they wouldn’t be in the market. I’m sure a very substantial percentage of players on this forum have bought $100 worth of stubs, but I’m also sure that most wont admit to it.

I've spent more than $100 in stubs. I have no problem admitting it. The only people that complain about people buying stubs are the ones with no real life money. Not everybody can sit at home scourging these forums and grind the game 8 hours a day dreaming of schnauzers and making horrific youtube videos about schnauzers. A lot of people have actual real life things to do.

I have never made a YouTube video about schnauzers, so I’m not sure if that was a dig or not. but I do spend 7-8 hours a day dreaming of schnauzers so that was fair.

Couple of years ago spent 200$ on stubs.... have never done it again and never will..my system every year now is play an flip as much as I can a buy trout immediately... His price is usually the lowest it will be at the very beginning because once a stub sale happens his price skyrockets and never really comes back down that much and then I go to the next most expensive diamond over and over till I have all of them and then finish division by division usually finish the AL first considering I buy trout first every year because I have never ever once pulled him in my life...

Apology accepted. But that was ridiculous — allow me to break down why:

    1. i said that I have also bought the $100 stubs, so you and I were actually agreeing
    2. you have more posts on this forum than I do, so it looks like you actually do have more time to spend on this forum than me
    3. I am gold 22 and you are gold 80, so it looks like you actually do spend more time playing than me
    4. my YouTube channel was awesome.

I spent $1,200 week one this year for Mantle.

$400 of it was MT I sold from MyTeam though (for those that have played 2k).

I don’t care what anyone says, over half this forum’s members bash SDS constantly. You have no idea how great they are compared to 2k. I don’t mind spending money on the Show. I wanted Mantle week one. I’ve wanted him for years in this game. So this year I bought him almost immediately. 2K I won’t give a dime to. SDS, I don’t mind doing it.

My pack luck has been dreadful this year though. That sucks. Other than that, I’m cool with the game. It has some issues, but I think they are being overblown. Even if the game was perfect there would still be people crying on here.

You can always tell when someone loses, and come on here saying they are “done”. We all lose, move on to the next one.

One thing I forgot to add. Even though I spent a lot week one, doesn’t mean I don’t grind this game. I grind this game as hard as my life allows it. Try to complete everything and get better. Every year I’ve gotten better. Didn’t even start playing online until 2018 and I’m old. Hand eye coordination isn’t up to par with the younger crowd.

This is my favorite game though. I love baseball.

I've spent thousands over the last 4 years. I don't mind. I made/make plenty and am allowed to do so.

The hours of entertainment I receive from this product when analyzed is cheaper than the habits of most people on these forums.

I started to buy more “real” baseball cards than virtual currency lately. Seeing how Topps is a part of this game, wish rookie cards, RC Auto, vintage, and game used cards were rewards you could win in game. Would be cool. Especially considering this is a card collecting game.

Actually winning something of value to be shipped right to your house.

I say who cares what people do with their money. That $100 might mean beer or dog supply money to me, but stubs to someone else. Buy what you want if you enjoy it enough.

What about beer supply for your dog? It sounds like your dog has a drinking problem, tbh, but he’s in college so he’ll probably grow out of it.

I have $500 budgeted for this game but will not drop a single cent on the game in it's current state. SDS is not deserving of my money right now. So glad I did not buy stubs on launch and now it's looking like I won't at all.

I play madden and feel the same way. I was fully prepared to spend a decent amount of money after experiencing the beta. I feel like a bait and switch happened and no longer have a desire to give them additional dollars based on what I am currently playing.

So is SDS better than EA? Yup. That does not mean they have earned additional money from me yet. I rarely spend in madden either and always manage to work the market enough to make $1500+ by the time I sell off my team. It's not like I am giving EA any cash either lol

Have never spent money for stubs simply because I like the challenge of being no money spent and trying to complete the whole live series collection.
To each their own though, you wanna spend a hundred on stubs go for it. I have though spent hundreds on myplayer in 2k before, so I get it.

    just work the market people.
stub sales are actually the BEST time to sell your cards as prices rise. I remember in '19 selling a 20k card for 45k and then buying it back later after the sale for less than 20k.
couple of hours every day and stack your profits. 150K in stubs could be had in awhile, and you can do it on your phone on your spare time.....

Man, I can’t find my rhythm this year. I’m looking at taking a loss on a couple golds becuase I bought them at what I thought was a decent price and then the floor dropped. Just can’t find the sweet spot this year, though I have flipped a bit. I take a loss every now and then when something g drops that I didn’t expect

People spend big to plant flowers that will be dead in a matter of months if not weeks I've never thought to question or try to talk about it as if it were wrong

    Before I was married with a kid, I'd blow $100-$500 at a bar, 2-3 times a week.
$100 a week on something I put quite a bit of time to is a total non issue..
If I didn't have the income, sure, it would be stupid to do that.. but I do, so whatever.
Last week I spent $1500 on upgrading my dishwasher to have a 3rd rack and be quieter even though our old one was just fine. Happy wife

I would be your "wife" in that scenario as I got rid of ours after 1.5 years because I found it too noisey. This one will probably wash my taint as well if I wanted lol
