Starters as relievers

Starters coming out of the bullpen is part of baseball, and will likely become even more prevalent in the future. SDS just needs to figure out how to limit the usage of starters out of the pen in RS.
I’m aware it is a part of baseball. But that’s not how they do it and you’re talking about 1 or 2 teams that do it, and they aren’t bringing in 3-4 starters every [censored] game. They might start a game with a reliever and then bring a starter in for the 3rd inning on. They aren’t using 4 starters for 2 innings each...
And on another note, I love how my opponent can’t touch my pitches for 5-6 innings and I go up 5-0 or 6-0 and then all of a sudden it becomes a HR derby and I lose 7-6 because they hit 7 solo HRs. It really is ridiculous
-
It really is sad that I am going to be forced to start using this tactic because relief pitchers are complete trash and give up HR every single game
-
As is said multiple.times before, the Opener Strategy becomes more and more popular.
How SDS implented it in the game is the problem!- No Starter subbed in allowed after the 3rd Inning.
- It should hurt his recovery or drain his Stamina faster when subbed in.
- Relievers Stamina needs to be at 100%. I dont understand why they only have 75% Energy from the begin with

Yes if they did something like this I wouldn’t mind so much. There is absolutely no team in the bigs that brings starters in after the 6th inning and that’s what is ticking me off. Either that or limit the amount of starters per game to 2. I got no issue facing 2 starters in a game, but 3-4?? Gimme a break
-
Like other people have said, the execution is the problem. They need to do something like starters out of the pen have their stamina drain twice as fast and don't start regaining stamina for 2 games after usage out of the pen. That way they can't use the same guys every game.
-
Just like in real life, starters should take a full 2 innings to get warmed up without the risk of them coming in with no energy/confidence.
IRL, starters throw twice as many pitches to stretch out, if not more.Just makes sense and is an easy fix

You are the most insufferable poster on this board. You will literally defend anything and everything about this game no matter how stupid it is. I hope SDS is paying you well.
-
I really like the starters as relievers idea but it definitely needs better exacution.
My idea would be to automatically cut the starters stamina in half when he enters out of the pen. That way if you use the same guy out of the bullpen multiple games in a row he would be below 25% stamina coming in the 2nd game in a row. It would also keep the starter from regaining enough energy to have a suitable start his next turn around.
This way allows you to be able to use starters no more then twice in a 5 game span but still gives you that option if things go south.
Ive read a few really good ideas over the last couple of weeks and a couple of those ideas are in this thread already. Regardless of what happens i just hope they do something about it because it is definitely an exploit the way it is set up now

I think 95% of us will all agree, it's actually you who is the most insufferable poster, dude.
You have made multiple posts of the exact same thing (spamming the board), that same subject being something not even remotely true (how most of us are somehow cheaters which is incredibly stupid) and are too dense to realize how the things you say are incredibly wrong and nobody agrees with you.Weren't you supposed to be done with this game like a week ago? (Attention seeking)

There is nothing wrong with starters out of the pen.
This is Ranked Seasons. People are trying to win stubs, XP, and card rewards. They should have their entire 25-man roster available to them in anyway they see fit.
There are no rules in MLB that prevent a manager from using a player however they want. Position player as pitcher? Why not? A pitcher used as a pinch hitter or pinch runner? Go for it. Whatever you think will help you win the game. SDS did the correct thing by allowing us to do this.
What difference does it make if your opponent uses a SP out of the pen? Your job at the plate is to get hits. Period. Starter, Relief, Closer—it makes no difference. Do your job.
But I will say that if SDS wanted to reduce the usage of SPs out of the pen, they have to release better relievers. I think Rollie is the only reliever over 90. At least he’s all I can think of at the moment.

Lol this is the worst post I’ve read in a long time. Let me know the next time you see a MLB team throw any starter in back to back games just to win
-
Really? The worst?
-
Show me the MLB rule that prevents a manager from using the ball players on his team in any way he sees fit?
[censored] crybaby. Can’t hit so you wanna make SDS create some rules to make it easier for you....

Arizona brought in Randy Johnson in relief of game 7 of the 2001 WS after throwing 7 innings the day before in game 6. For the record, I think being able to throw Kluber 2 innings every game and him not be tired is a problem that should be addressed. However, this system is SO much better than last year where you might not get to use even once him for 15 games. Also, the reason teams don’t use this strategy in the regular season (IMO) is due to fear of injury, which isn’t and shouldn’t be a part of DD. Hopefully they tweak the stamina a bit, but I like the ability to use every pitcher on my team.

I owned you so badly on the General page when you falsely claimed I was 1) a bandwagon Nats fan and 2) Banned. Why do you spread lies on here? Again, I hope SDS pays you well.

This post is embarrassing on so many levels. The only time you rarely see starters come out of the bullpen during the regular season is during marathon extra inning games or true emergencies. It should not be routine in online play.

Ive only had to face more than 2 starters like 5 times in 110 games. It really isnt a big deal. Its just another AI throwing a virtual ball to me. Get better at hitting those guys. Just let the rage pass.

What’s embarrassing is you not knowing the rules of baseball. Is there a rule that says you can’t use a starter out of the pen?
What’s embarrassing is you asking SDS to put in a non-existent baseball rule so that you have better chance of getting a base hit.
Go play Franchise Mode if you don’t like the Game 7 decision-making in RS.

You're constant crying about it is hats embarrassing. Be a gamer man. Take on the challenge and actually get better at batting against these guys. Just because you suck at hitting. I dont use my starters like that. But get over it. Just hit what you see is thrown. Does it matter who. Get better
