Game will be dead before most people get those lol
Every year someone says the game will be dead. It'll still be going strong though will be less players than before
You think this game is going strong? Lol. I’m guessing PlayStation gave up exclusive rights because of how strong it was going?
Every year the game is outselling the year before. They are going cross platform for one simple fact. Money. There is no baseball game on Xbox and will make close to double the money just by going there. Why is that hard to see? It's a good business move. Doesn't take away from how many people are playing the game mid July
Hmm but other games aren’t. Yet they aren’t on Xbox. Whatever makes you feel better though.
I do think TA3s will be strong players and TA program plus showdown was a great addition. I just like to take opportunities to call out the people doing a terrible job.
Lol what other games? There is no other sports game that is console specific and anything that is console specific, isn’t a yearly release and doesn’t have the ability to outsell itself. Everybody else makes it look easy to call this game out while you do a terrible job.

I'd rather us get a Trevor Story Silver Slugger card. Just please, no more prospects. Shovel face has overstayed his welcome, 15-19 is long enough for Dante to represent the Rockies. We got Helton which is awesome, and I think his SS card will be the final in the Rockies affinity (with a Nolan Platinum Glove along the way) but I'm okay with not getting Dante.
I'll take Walker and Galarraga tho. Or he'll give me a silver Ryan Spilbourgh

They gave up exclusive rights because that’s what MLB wanted.
It's funny people think it's going multi platform because of anything other than their overlords wanted it to be.

TS 19 was the best selling baseball video game in history and 2020 already beat that in April. Yeah you can say the "stay at home" stuff is a reason for the higher sales this year, but considering 19 was such a great seller I am pretty sure 20 was gonna beat it anyways. So yeah, more people are playing this game then ever. And every year there is a considerable fall off from March/April to August/Sept. That is just normal for any game.

Ummmm, San Diego Studios is an arm of Sony. It’s owned by SIE. They didn’t sell the franchise, they’re still making the game. I think you’re confused.

Honestly, those were two teams I was really struggling with. SDS doesn't have the rights (at least, that we know of) to use some of the bigger names in the Pirates and Rangers history.
For Texas, SDS just lost the rights to Adrian Beltre and Ian Kinsler, either one would be perfect for this hypothetical TA stage. While it is possible they'd give Nolan Ryan another card -- I just didn't find that to be very exciting. The same could be said for Pudge, but I think his chances of being included are much lower considering he has the Evolution card. I wish they had the rights to Josh Hamilton or Prince Fielder but alas, they're not available.
With those players not available or unlikely to make sense in this program, that leaves Elvis Andrus, and lets be honest, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who thinks he deserves a 95 overall Flashback; and the other potential candidate, Yu Darvish. The more I think about it, I think Darvish should be the choice but for whatever reason, I must have thought Michael Young would be a more popular choice.
The Pirates, in my opinion, were much harder to find a suitable candidate. I narrowed my pick down to Andrew McCutchen, Dave Parker, Bill Mazeroski, and Jason Kendall -- and since I didn't include a catcher for any of the other teams, I thought Jason Kendall would make for a pretty good choice.

For Wsox i am really hoping for a Frank Thomas or Albert Belle... Dont need another Mark Buehrle and dont want the A's version of Frank being the only version in this years game.

Obviously, these are probably a pretty long way off from releasing (I'm thinking mid-July), I've been thinking about this the past few days and I think Team Affinity 3 should finally be the meaty content drop we've all been waiting for. I think there's a very good chance that Stage 4 will be each team's "Finest" card. This makes sense for a few reasons...
-
It'll be releasing in the Fall, so in all likelihood late-September/early October, and that is usually the time of year SDS releases The Show's "Finest" series of cards.
-
Last year, we got a "Finest" series card for each team. Instead of doing packs, I think it makes sense to tie these into Team Affinity.
So, with that said, what could we be getting in stage 3 of Team Affinity? I've got my fingers crossed that we'll get a high-90s (95-98?) Signature Series, Prime, or All-Star cards. If that's what it ends up being, we could see some really sweet cards that I think we've all been patiently waiting for.
I've made a mock-up list of who I think could be included if this is the direction they go in. I could be way off on a lot of these, and hopefully you'll chime in and let me know who we could see for your favorite team. I'm also hoping that the developers will maybe come across this thread and possibly give them some ideas of who we all want to see.
Without further ado, here's my guesses for each team:
-
Baltimore Orioles

That is a solid call on the Royals but playing the Royals one time I saw Bobby Witt Jr. He is the Royals #1 prospect so I wouldn't be shocked if it was him.
I would be shocked if Brett isn't the stage 4. He is the Royals.

They won't double going to xbox... According to reports ps4 concoles outsell xbox one by about 2.5 to 1... They aren't selling to an equalsize market, xbox is a much smaller market... But it may be a 40% at most, but could be much less as many players like myself already purposely got ps4 to get The Show. Tough to tell exactly but the player base of xbox is much smaller according to sales reports

Don't worry, homie. I'm the OP of this topic and I, too, am a White Sox fan. I'm thinking we'll get a Prime/Signature Series Frank Thomas either in an Inning Program or he'll be a Headliner. That's a card we will definitely be getting again.
That said, I find it blasphemous that you're comfortable with just a gold Mark Buehrle. We need a diamond Mark Buehrle in the worst way! I know he won't be exciting for the competitive players but he's someone who will be in my rotation no matter what as he's my favorite baseball player of all-time.

As a Cubs fan I want a Diamond Ron Santo card, he deserves it
As much as I'd love that too, I only included players I know for a fact that SDS own the rights to.
Oh I understand, that is my dream card...and Barry Bonds too because he has the best swing of all time but I know that will never happen
