I focus only on middle. If I doesn't look middle, I'll take.
I'll move my pci the smallest amount I can too. I have a tendency (as most do) of jamming the stick so I try to finesse the left stick while focusing on timing and location.
It's what works for me when I get in the zone.. harder said than done though.
If I start chasing, I'll try to get back to that mindset.

I take a lot of pitches all game. This allows me to get my opponents pitch count up and it also allows for picking up what and where he’s going to throw. When I have him figured out I can sit on a particular pitch and pretty much know when he’s throwing it.

If you’re a zone hitter, I found turning off the outer ring of the pci really helped me to focus. This will give you a much smaller target to watch for that pitch you want to hit.

I think the most important thing is to constantly remind yourself to be patient. It’s more difficult than it sounds but you have to give yourself a chance to get the hanging slider or change.

I’ve thought about this a lot lately and I think I’m starting to find an approach that’s really helping at the plate. With less than two strikes, any pitch that looks like it’s going to catch the low part of the strike zone I’ll just try to take. With the amount of sinkers and off speed pitches that are being thrown now, anything that starts low is going to break even lower and be out of the strike zone. Also don’t be afraid to take well executed strikes. If your opponent can dot a fastball on the corners just tip your hat and say good for you. It’s really difficult, sometimes impossible, to get good PCI placement on those corner pitches so even if you make contact more often than not it’s going to lead to a weak fly ball/ground ball. Pretty much just be selective and try to swing at good hittable pitches. Don’t just swing at everything that appears to be a strike.

    What the Baltimore guy said^^.

Even with good swings on good pitches, the game still randomizes your outcome so you’re better off trying to limit chasing bad pitches.

All you can do is just put a good swing on a decent pitch to hit.
