First off, I'll start by saying that I know I'll be out manned. Butsince I need 3 XBHs, online, with 3rd basemen; I decide to try the new Event.
First game I get matched up with a Diamond 67 player that is sporting a Was banner.
You know he's put in some effort (playing or buying) to have AS Soon AS in the lineup. Also has Mantle, but I think it was his Rookie card, and a full squad of Diamond hitters.
Also is pitching with Robin Roberts.
I figure I'm going to get throttled, since my rotation is all Bronzes. But I don't care, I want the 3 XBHs.
Naturally he takes a 2-0 lead going ibyo the bottom of the 1st.
He then proceeds to do what I could only think if as quick pitching. (I couldn't even move my PCI before the ball was already crossing the plate).
I luck out and get 1 run, but make the 3rd out trying to stretch a double out if a base hit with LS Eduardo Escobar (need the XBH).
I luck out and get him out in the 2nd without giving up a run.
Then bottom if the second he paused and I assume he's bringing in an RP (he had Lee Smith and Gagne in his pen)
But no, he rolls out with BO Gibson! And has BO Leiter warming up as his lefty!
Seriously! I am running a 78 OVR rated team with Golds, Silvers, and Bronze players and you want to bring in two starting pitchers to close out your 3 inning game!
Amd it's because of people like this that I don't like playing H2H.

But, like BO Gibson is a pretty bad card, I really hope my opponents bring in him.

Quick pitching doesn’t make the pitch get to the plate faster.

Don’t get frustrated. I played five games today against very evenly matched opponents. I think this event offers opportunities for more players.

No. Within seconds another pitch waa crossing the platw after one registered.
I can tell when someone is spamming rhe X button. I didn't even have time to call time out. Holding R2 to slow him down for a pitch or two was impossible, and I couldn't even bring up my quick menu.
He threw a total of 3 pitches in a matter of seconds.

You could also try pausing for a few seconds after the pitch hits the catchers mit to slow them down. I mainly play offline, and playing the CPU I am very fast at pitching. The few games I have played online my opponents have paused or held R2. Sorry if that makes me a scumbag though. I kinda like my fast rhythm so I'm not over thinking my pitching.

It sounds like you were managing to hold your own with bronzes and silvers, so he decided to bring in his best pitcher to give him the best shot at winning. Is this a bizarre flex or a ridiculous whinebaby thread? I legit can’t tell what you’re upset about.

also in this event unless you have all the collections done there aren't too many choices for decent relievers. The only guy I have in my bullpen thats not a common is the breakout Lee Smith card.

Maybe he needed stats with Bob Gibson? I can't remember if you can prestige him or not. Either way what difference does it make who the other player puts in the game?
As for the quick pitching I have no idea what that is. I don't like playing online usually because the other player is constantly taking forever to do anything between pausing after every pitch or taking their sweet time to actually make the pitch.

I don't relieve starters usually, but i've done it to get the wins with Gibson for the 2nd inning program. I did it in the 5th inning though. Also, he might've pitched Gibson the day before and needed someone to get some innings so he put leiter in the game instead of using 5 relievers. TBH, this is pretty ok. Be glad he didn't put in kluber and newhouser...

I played your opponent yesterday. He quick pitched me too. By quick pitching, I mean his pitcher never comes set. I was able to slow him down with R2 a little and had the lead but he walked me off after I hung a change.
