How to beat the cheaters

You're using Cheater wrong. Me using R2 to look at your confidence and energy isn't cheating. Heck, me using R2 to dictate pace isn't cheating
I'm not talking about holding R2 a few times per game. I'm talking about every single pitch which has happened to me and I suspect all of us non-cheaters. There's an easy solution for this: only allow R2 in the first inning a given pitcher is in the game. If you want additional information in a later inning, you should be required to use your pause time vs. disrupting the pitcher. The feature is being abused.

What does buying stubs have to do with any of this
Not supporting the game financially until they crack down on cheating and improve online play.

Do you seriously report every single person who holds R2?
If it's done constantly throughout the game, then yes. A few times then no, of course not.
-
I played someone who R2ed me through 14 innings in a ranked game.
Was it annoying? Yes. Was I mad? Yes.Was my opponent cheating? No.

Yes.
If it's a in-game mechanic, it cannot be classified as cheating. The opponent is using an in-game mechanic.
It's scummy, and players who do that are prob some of the most annoying players in the game, but it's not cheating. -
If they R2 me, I sometimes respond by waiting a long time before starting my windup on every pitch for the rest of the inning.

Yes, because if I don't agree with you I'm a "troll." Sorry to get in the way of your cheating. Actually, I'm not sorry, because I hope players like you are banned.

Using built in features of the game to annoy your opponent is not cheating, it is cheesing. Bunt cheese, R2 cheese, quick menu pausing every 5 seconds, etc. All annoying cheese, but not cheating.
Cheating is gaining an unfair advantage against your opponent from using something foreign to the game (bug/exploit/etc).

Good strategy, but also sad that it's come to that for honest players like us. SDS could probably fix the online game in a few hours by making the above common sense changes and most importantly, banning the cheaters. You could start with a one-week ban and then if they're caught cheating again, a permanent ban.

Everything you just mentioned above is an "exploit." Thank you for proving my point. If you want to call it "cheesing," that's your right, but "cheesing" players should also be removed from the online game. There is no excuse for allowing a group of people to ruin the online experience for everyone else.

Based on the HOME RUN banner fiasco of 2020 I strongly doubt they could fix this in a few hours

Ah no, sorry bud still not cheating, otherwise throwing high sinkers would be cheating.
Annoying for sure, and if you want to report them for rude/obnoxious behavior go ahead.
-
No I’ll report them for cheating, but thanks.
