I mean it is good to add new thinga but like you said they seemed to have half heartedly put any effort into these new feature. I blame online gaming for this, they figure everyone wants to jump online and download DLC so they dont put as much thought into the solo player options.

I would like to be able to contact my agent or go speak to management or even hang out with other teammates.

Why have social media if we cant stir up the rivalries that way. That only being able to do it once or twice a month is stupid.

And (i guess it's cause im pitching) but commentary never talks about me. The focus should be more on the player.

So much needs to be fixed in RTTS

Got traded in my sixth season right after the ASG and I was the reigning AL MVP. Ok, last year of contract, but the team who got me wasn't even a contender, so the trade made no sense at all. Besides that, I wanted to stay and it's weird that the team doesn't even come to you to say "hey, wanna renew your contract?".

PS: the Marlins were the team that traded for half season of me. Given the way things usually go in Miami we can say that's a move so stupid it's totally possible that front office would make.

When they started the archetypes and caps BS it was intended to have you not be able to become the super star right away like you could before under the point system. You will probably never 99 on all attributes in your whole career. That was the intent of SDS.

I think a key is getting an A potential at the Scouting Events. I have not had this problem with my RTTS players.

There used to be a ‘prospect spotlight’ at the beginning of each calendar month before each game where Matt introduces another commentator (EK?) who talked at length about your RTTS player.. Must be gone now, haven’t seen it for years. That was cool, although I always thought it should have been about a well performing prospect rather than your player every time so that getting mentioned was an honour.

Being penalized for stuff behind your control, and asked to do stuff( sac bunt with guy 85+pwr, or steal with a 50 spd guy against the best catcher in the game)and in trouble or benched for not doing it is why I stopped playing rtts 2 years ago.and won't go back to it as long as it's like that.

Out of the Park (OOTP) had a great older game called Inside The Park that really did a great job with letting you roleplay as a player trying to get into the majors. You had to save up for equipment, develop a training routine schedule to maximize your stats, neat things like that.

That is super lame. I got in 161 games this year but did a lot of pinch hitting.

I have to admit, I've seen these complaints before and just assumed players were talking about 1 of 2 things...either the temporary position change that happens to every player, or they didn't build their player correctly, which I've personally done before. That said, this happened to me last night, and I'm livid about it. I have 8 RTTS players that I cycle through. Yesterday, I started playing my Control Freak SP, playing Spring Training in his 2nd season. About halfway through Spring Training, the skipper calls me in and tells me they're going to move me to Closer. I definitely don't want to be a Closer with this player, as I already have a Closer that I play...don't want 2 of them. But, I go along, thinking it's going to be temporary. Same day, my agent calls me and asks my thoughts about it. I tell him I want nothing to do with Closer, I want to be a starter. So, I played the ENTIRE [censored] season as a Closer, without so much as hearing back from my agent...the whole [censored] year. Then, after the season ends, I'm offered a 5-year contract as a Closer. I try negotiating it, and of course, get declined, and have to accept 5 years. THEN I hear back from my agent, and I tell him, I want to be a starter, or I want out of Detroit. His response: "[censored] son, there's nothing I can do for you, you just signed a 5 year deal". As FYI, this Starter plays for the Tigers, and his baseline attributes were solid enough for him to be #2 starter behind Fulmer, even as a 2nd year guy.

There are so many problems with this. Even for those making the argument "that's baseball"...well, no, it isn't. In real life, if your agent doesn't contact you about an issue you've raised with him, for the whole season, you fire that agent and get a new one. Hell, if it went on for a month, you fire him. There is no argument or justification for this. The system is flawed. The fact that your agent contacts you in the offseason, every year, AFTER you've already signed a contract, just makes no sense at all. What is the point of having an agent?

What is the solution?

Add a gameplay setting to toggle permanent role changes off/on. That way, players that like the "realism" of being forced into a different role can still have it, and everybody else can remain in their chosen position.

Give the agent more pull early in the season, while trades are still happening, and when the issue is fresh. If I tell my agent in Spring Training that I don't like the position change, I want to hear back within a month, at the latest. My request for a trade should be made right then, not in November.

The offseason conversation with the agent needs to move to BEFORE your contract offers. That way, he can try to address your concerns before it's too late. Why in the world are we telling our agent we want to be traded or moved to our preferred position after the contract is signed?

I've switched back and forth, but focus on using the PCI. I rarely move it, though. Only if I have an advantage in the count and I'm looking for a specific pitch in a specific spot. Once you get your vision and contact high enough, you can cover most of the plate without having to move the PCI much.

I have always hated when you have a runner on second with 1st and 3rd open and lay down a bunt---runner on 2nd goes back to 2nd instead of advancing....WTF!!

Yeah, I hate that. If I’m making a RTTS player, I want to select the home run animation I want instead of it being shackled to a stance. The provided ones are mostly ridiculous and unrealistic, at least in the 2019 version.
