I agree with you. I have read and watched a good deal about him and it does seem that he had some issues. But he was not nearly S bad as everyone thinks. It’s probably Ken Burns’ fault even though his documentary was otherwise perfect.

Al Stump did the most damage. Most of his stories were wildly exaggerated and some were fabricated completely. Ken Burns took this garbage and combined it with the fact that Cobb was much disliked by his contemporaries to create a racist bogeyman.

And it's sad to see, too. Because Cobb probably got in his fair share of spats with players and spectators alike, and played dirty (though a lot of the stuff that is considered dirty today wasn't against the rules back then) he wasn't a racist.

In fact, he SUPPORTED racial integration in baseball, and there's even a picture of him giving hitting tips to Hank Aaron.

I freely admit, I don't know enough about the man's personal history but I have a biography about him which is supposed to be well crafted and fairly objective and this thread has inspired me to pick it up......now.

Don't read it if it has the name "Stump" on it. That's the man who ruined Cobb's reputation and legacy.

Nope, not that one. This book is by Charles Leerhsen called: Ty Cobb a Terrible Beauty. It wom the Casey award for best baseball book of the year in 2015 and is supposedly the gold standard of baseball biographies. Along with Jane Leavy's books on Babe, Koufax and Mantle.

It's described as debunking the myths about Cobb so I believe it gives a fair portrayal.

It could happen, but I doubt it. I'm usually not a graphics and performance snob, but the game already has framerate issues on the lower end Playstation and Xbox hardware. I can't see it running well on Switch unless they really strip it down. I would prefer the dev team continue to try and push what can be done with the new generation as more of them are produced.

If it did come to Switch, I wouldn't pick up a copy on that platform. I'm an adult that drives to work, so I'm not playing while commuting, and if I were to go away somewhere I would probably bring the Series S and play on a TV. It just doesn't make sense for me. That being said, I played RTTS on my Vita years ago, so I at least understand the appeal.

go to your profile (avatar) top of screen leaderboards select online rated hit square to see your record and friends. Click on your name and select universal profile to see overall record throughout lifetime and by year

Did you scroll all the way to the 64 rated players? All the CAPs show up as being rated at 64 regardless of what the correct rating is.

I'm running a 10 person custom league with a 3 round preseason draft where the 10 human teams can take players from the 20 cpu teams. Is there any easy way to make the roster changes or is it pretty much just have some come fill a cpu spot, do the trades, leave and do it again for the next team? Cause that's the only way I can think of. Lmk asap as we are looking to get it going soon

Yes, you would need to do each trade individually.
Since that would be overly tedious, a better way might be to use “Diamond Dynasty rosters” and just have each manager put in their live series players that was agreed upon.

If they are sellable you can only lock one in. So you cannot lock multiple of the same card into your collection. So for example if you buy Sig Babe Ruth and lock him in, then earn him through the program, you will have one sellable Babe Ruth.

The cards that come in as non sellable are the ones from player programs and evolutions that you can get multiple ones of. Or cards from the daily missions. But none of those are sellable to begin with.

HustlinOwl you are the one back in like 2015 that showed me how to set up 30 team control for Franchise in one of your youtube videos...thanks for that dude.

The glory days when they cared about franchise mode, now we can’t even do a proper 30 team because AI messes with roster following spring training.

Franchise mode is still amazing to me even now because I just play one season, the current season with spring training..every pitch of every game on Broadcast so basically 190 games at about 2 hours each, even one season is a grind. In fact this year's franchise is the best ever because of much better and realistic the gameplay and AI is, how the AI works you for an at bat is pure genius, in a sense it forces you to have better at bats or else you're screwed. Well, all this wouldn't be possible without a proper realistic Slider set.
