To be honest, I’m really working on getting the Stage 2 TA Padres RF to replace Tony Gwynn in my lineup. That guy looks amazing and has top end speed and fielding. Good vision, high contact, and way more power than Gwynn

No. But, if you miss the deadline, you can always get him on the market.
As the event draws to a close, start looking at the price if you absolutely must have that card.

His play in the field is just fine for what he brings to the plate.

A guy could have silver or gold defense overall on their card, but if their "fielding" part of the defense is 90 or higher they will have the diamond blue shield on field. So to answer your question, it only shows you how good their fielding is, not their arm, arm accuracy or reaction.
So that also means a defender can have a diamond arm, arm accuracy and reaction, but if they have a 68 fielding rating then they will have a bronze badge on field underneath them.
