  • wolfTex77_PSNW wolfTex77_PSN

R2 before pitches is the equivalent of stepping out of the batters box briefly between pitches to take a deep breath and reset yourself for the next pitch. Pressing r2 allows you to take a quick look at what has already been thrown during the AB or after the first time through the order how you were pitched using that particular batter. I agree if someone is using it inappropriately that is garbage but you should be a able to tell I k how personally I'm tapping the X button immediately after every pitch so it will hurry and end the replay and I can get a quick glance at where we are at in the pitch sequence or take just a few seconds to try figure out what the pitcher is trying to set up hopefully leading me to a mammoth Homer or teach me something about you I can use moving forward. You may not have played much real baseball and that's ok, you may have and great knowledge to the point where you process extremely quick, or your just a gifted gamer who can effortlessly move the pci to the fast moving white dot so good you dont need to think about what your opponent is trying to do but there is nothing wrong with a quick glance and breath to clear your head between pitches

I was really excited about Olerud he was an absolute hitting machine when he played. At this point in the year there is obviously a consensus best player at each position but I'm sure a lot of people are like me and about to start running lineups full of players they just enjoy playing with.

@olivegarden2 “I throw a 2 seamer” he says lol. I’m willing to take a gamble on your two seamer and a professional baseball players two seamer are completely different. What you throw is a straight line fastball that spins like a two seamer but with no movement.

Mine does. It moves in towards righties and away from lefties. I may not be a professional but I'm still young. If you don't think I very good then that's your loss. I'm young and throw 60

    Doesnt make sense

Why? What part? That is how a 2 seamer is supposed to move and how I throw it

Save your time kid arguing with people online will steal your happiness. My son is probably close to your age based on you throwing 60 mph. He pitches and is currently working on his 2 seam. You guys just keep locating, changing speeds and you will have a lot of success. Remember dont feed the animals and never argue with the haters.

Lol at theses dudes messing with a young buck. major leaguers aren’t the only ones to have movement on their pitches. I’m an “old man” and I can throw a pitch that moves easy. The problem is mine never topped out over 85 and I wasn’t a PO, I mainly played 3rd and LF.... and trust me, the 1B knew my throws could possible move to the left. Keep working on the game young buck, gets some pitching coach ( or hitting) and hopefully you can get to the show, or at least the college level.

I’m in middle school and throw 60, I hope my arm doesn’t wear out! I could see myself throwing 90 if I’m careful!

Don’t let them throw you more than 80 pitches a week or 60 in a game.... seriously, that’s how you throw it out. There’s a video out by fox sports south ( the Braves channel) and it talks about the damage that can be done with over pitching

It’s called Driven: Youth Baseball and another called Driven: Dr Andrews. Dr Andrews is one of the best sports surgeons in America and talks about the effects and potential injuries of overpitching

It's crazy my sons team played 4 games last weekend. Trying to manage pitch count is becoming an issue

  • How do you deal with the emotional trauma of sucking it online?
  • wolfTex77_PSNW wolfTex77_PSN

Last year was my first year playing and I have played a lot this year. Hitting seemed impossible at times and still does sometimes. I also watched a few YouTube videos read some tips but ultimately the one thing I heard was you just have to play the game and play it a lot and as you do like most things it will start coming to you. If you're not using analog to pitching start, it will dramatically increase your ability to control the ball and make you a far better pitcher also in my experience its been easier to become a better pitcher than hitter. If you're confident that you can limit your opponent it becomes a little leas stressful at the plate and, a little confidence goes a long way. Then just play spend more time playing online RS opposed to any other mode it plays different and it seems to be the hardest mode to be successful in. Last thing numbers dont lie check your online hitting stats and start identifying what types of hitters work for you I bet you will see a trend of similar swings use those guys. Not all but a lot of these players who seem to effortlessly crush everything have been playing a long time. Last thing dont let the meter run when searching for games in RS stop it so it will pair you with someone at your level you will typically have a pretty even matchup,

  • Is Directional or Pure Analog a noob move?
  • wolfTex77_PSNW wolfTex77_PSN

@SaintSKDE said in Is Directional or Pure Analog a noob move?:

A lot of players recommend zone, but I simply cannot use it. I cant aline my PCI and my timing is so off. People say Directional or Pure Analog requires no skill. So is using these input a noob move?

Use analog for a while it will allow you to start seeing pitches with your focus only being on identifying FB or offspeed and of course timing when to swing. It seems like with analog if you are being disciplined and not swinging at everything along with good timing you can hit balls hard that are in the strike zone even if there closer to the edges unlike directional where it feels like you only hit balls hard if they are center cut. If you use it as a training aid so to speak you will have a little more fun at the plate because you will hit more balls and have less frustration due to pci issues. But its true what everyone has said about zone and it being the hitting interface that gives you the most control of your hitting so once you are consistently getting good timing and you feel like you can pick the ball up make that transition back to zone because for me anyway zone just seems more rewarding when you square balls up knowing you did it and competitively speaking you will have no chance vs better players who pitch well. Once a player who can pitch good, and understands the game senses your not using zone you will not see anything else to hit effectively. Hope that helps I know it allowed me to become a better hitter and be more competitive while learning.

  • Hitting this year was overall a slot machine

@raesONE said in Hitting this year was overall a slot machine:

@Nanos_McGregor said in Hitting this year was overall a slot machine:

With an unlimited amount of check swing tokens

Unless you played me, I always get called for the strike. Well maybe not always, but definitely >75% of the times. Which makes it even more frustrating if my opponent can stay in a game because of this nonsense. At some point you will have to challenge them at because you just walked a bunch of people, it will most likely be a meatball for a multiple run homer. It completely ruins the whole game and that's not even an exaggeration, that is literally what happens.

Its terrible and the worst part is you know without any doubt how the story is ending, absolute bomb following the final check swing that includes the animation of the batter flailing and almost falling into the other batters box on a great pitchers pitch that should have ended the inning. Then it happens........

Been a rough past few days. Having the team basically dismantled. Let us get that MVP Bryant card and that Silver Slugger Baez card from last year. Hopefully in a Run it back pack again or even in a future inning “Classic” pack

I’m not a Cubs fan but I catch a lot of games on tv due to the WGN network. I don’t recall ever seeing a team trade away so much talent all at once. These are bonafide star players. Tough to see. Hang in there cub fans.

Eric Davis, I imagine his low vision, contact vs. righties bothers people when looking at his card but he has out performed vs. righties with his awesome swing cant beat having his speed for offense and defense, plus he has a cannon for an arm
