This post will go over different catogories within mlb the show. Anything marked at the end with L is considered a Legacy issue, meaning this issue spans across multiple years and has not been fixed.
Gameplay:
L- Fielder urgency still consistently lacks, from fielders acting like they have never seen a ball hit off a wall before, players waiting for the ball, double tapping the glove when they need to throw quickly.
L- even though it seems by design, hitting still has its issues. Balls in the corner of the zone on higher difficulty shrink the pci so small that it's basically rng when its hit. Then on outside pitches if you actually hit them to the opposite field it is considered a "slightly late" swing, while rolling over on the same pitch will result in hrs. This was actually fixed during the very 1st patch on mlb the show 18, but for some reason they decided to take away pop to the opposite field. Also, if a pitch is placed just off the coner of the box the game rounds off the pci movement too harshly and it does not allow you to get under, or put the pci dot on the ball
L- I think everyone in the community has been asking sds to reduce the amount of foul balls for years, they keep it this way so the casuals who swing at everything can stay in the game.
"L"- even though it is relatively new, it is really a shame that sds consistently ignores the co-op mode when it has some of the best potential in the game. Games still often end in freezeoffs, and not only that you get banned if you want to leave! So sds doesn't fix their game glitching, and punishes players when it happens? That makes a lot of sense.....
Also don't know why the "classic" pci and the one burst was removed they were by far my favorite to use. Not really sure why you can't just have all of them in the game.
Non gameplay issues:
New problem: with the introduction of seasons last year, sds has decided to make MLB The Shop 24. With the game centered around these new 40k packs. These packs legitimately have a worse return on investment than sitting at an actual casino. With these packs often being 1/4 or 1/5 chance for the higher round you'll in theory go broke faster sitting there opening MLB packs than you will sitting at a blackjack table. Keep in mind this game is rated E for everyone meaning it's designed for children to play as well.
L- Along with the idea of packs, why do we see almost all the same players every year? "BUT SDS DOES ADD NEW PLAYERS!", the sad truth is we have seen just as many players dissappear from the game as we have seen players added and mlb the show only makes more money every year, so it can't be justified that they only add a few players here and there. At this point our "new" cards are just cards from the older games because they don't have enough actual new content to fill the game with.
This was just a short summary, I really could go on and on. In short, sds needs to put forth way more effort than what they are providing to the community, and every update is pretty much a nothing burger.
