You’re not wrong. I haven’t bought packs or stubs since I learned my lesson years ago! I used to love RTTS until they ruined it but still enjoy creating players and vegging out on franchise mode. I suspect I’ll be on there a lot this year!

Why any one WOULDNT play this PXP card collection lifesuck on rookie is beyond me. You get the same PXP as on All Star, HOF, or Legend. Why not bang out 50 hits, 40 runs, and strike out 23 rather than settling for less on the higher difficulties? The only way to increase PXP payoff is by suffering through the toxic dashboarding scripted hell of Ranked. I strongly suspect that the whole point of making rookie intolerable is an attempt to encourage players to migrate away from computer play toward their h2h cesspool. Fcuk that. I’d sooner put in my own catheter.

I’ve been playing since 2010 and this week I literally pulled Trout for the first time. Good luck.

Tiger Stadium and Ebbets Field. But hey! Rejoice! We finally got…the Kingdome b/c Jeter happened to get one of his hits there!

If that happens at Rogers Centre, isn’t that a hate crime? Is there an animation where Sciambi’s carted away to the Yukon by the Mounties?

@Easy_Duhz_It_ agreed. It all changed when pxp was introduced. I think (like many things in modern gaming) its all about maximizing engagement time. Keeping the player playing the game as long as possible ln hopes that they will eventually spend money.
Ding Ding Ding We have a winner! As with everything else online, it’s all about capturing that coveted engagement; coercing people to spend more of their lives addictively interacting with their product. Sure, the maker’s love to push players to paradoxically spend even more money on products they’ve already “bought”, but what really changed was the major corporate placement deals.
I’m hoping no one actually believes engagement data has nothing to do with a brand’s decision to purchase placement advertising in a game. This game is full of these little micro-aggressions against the player’s limited time. As they creep upward through dopamine-based rewards; “missions” (chores, really), the company takes that data to Under Armor, etc. and says, “Look! Our consumers engage with our game more every year! That means more eyeballs subconsciously “engaging” with your brand along the way!” Yeah! That equipment collection is all about stimulating content and “quality of life.”
You and I are as much the product as the annual release.

Yep. Me too. Combine that with finally getting a pitch to hit only to have a “perfect/perfect” die as a routine fly ball and these inherently mind-numbing, tedious chores become fcukign unbearable.

That was my biggest gripe about last year. If you wanted to collect the TA rewards, they were basically token cards that just sat there. A cringe-worthy irony that Negro League cards were basically forced to be excluded from grind lineups.
The broken CPU pitching is making me already bored of the game
