After playing DD for years to no end, last year I stopped in July due to the "Season Eligibility." After the bad feedback so many gave last year, I was hoping SDS would immediately reverse course for 2024 and do away with eligibility requirements all together.

This year with 4 wildcards, maybe I'll make it to August after grinding so much for those cars I desire to be my "core" of my DD team.

Depending on feedback from players, will this be the make or break year for eligibility requirements and 2025 goes back to 2022 style?

Personally, I don't enjoy paying for a product that restricts me on what I'm able to do. I don't like how a company wants me to play the way someone else enjoys to play.
This mode is basically an Ultimate team mode similar to Madden, Hockey, Fifa, and basketball. The devs should not have a right to cap xp, structure cards to be elligible only for certain times of the year, or tell me how I should play.

If there was another baseball game that had an ultimate team mode with unlimited possibilities and no outside interference from the devs, I'd play that in a heartbeat.

Seasons is stupid, Xp cap should be illegal, meter pitching is 50% accurate, "had to throw that in there" and all these micro managing from a gaming dev team is absurd.

But I gotta just suck it up and try to enjoy the game.

Four wild cards are not guaranteed each season. From the Feature Premiere stream.

"yes obviously not in season 1 but every season after season 1 there will be wild cards and to make things even better this year we'll have up to four wild card slots in subsequent Seasons after you know after season one four wild cards yes but we will want to say that the number of wild cards can vary from season to season so be on the lookout on how you can earn and unlock those wild card slots".

So we could get less. We also don't know what it will take to unlock them. Do they put them in the season XP path? If so, how deep? Will they show up as rewards for online play? Will they be the reward for a mini season run?

There will still be events and i guess by season 3 even more wildcard spots with how fast you can get through the affinitys this year most wont be sticking with the same players for long anyways
