Make Rookie Great Again

I'm sick of rookie mode. You want to make TA less of a grind? Have rookie go back to being fun. In 21 rookie was meatball after meatball right down the middle (this was before pxp).
Now i'm not saying you need to make it that way again, however rookie right now, while easy, is annoying. It's either balls way out of the zone or strikes on the black with the occasional good pitch to hit.
You want to help players get through TA faster, let us smash the cpu. Who does it hurt for all of us to have an easier more fun way of grinding TA and pxp.
If it's easier for everyone, everyone wins. All players would be able to get to parallel 5 faster, finish stat missions faster, and enjoy blasting dinger after dinner in conquest games.
Just my thoughts because I remeber how much fun playing rookie vs cpu was in older games. It was a good, fun, brainless, home run derby, and I loved it.

I just wish they'd let us change from competitive to simulation in Diamond Dynasty. I understand competitive for online....but why is this even a thing for Conquest and mini seasons? Who am i competing against?
-
@Easy_Duhz_It_ agreed. It all changed when pxp was introduced. I think (like many things in modern gaming) its all about maximizing engagement time. Keeping the player playing the game as long as possible ln hopes that they will eventually spend money.

I just wish the computer didn’t throw 70% balls this year and let me smash em

Ding Ding Ding We have a winner! As with everything else online, it’s all about capturing that coveted engagement; coercing people to spend more of their lives addictively interacting with their product. Sure, the maker’s love to push players to paradoxically spend even more money on products they’ve already “bought”, but what really changed was the major corporate placement deals.
I’m hoping no one actually believes engagement data has nothing to do with a brand’s decision to purchase placement advertising in a game. This game is full of these little micro-aggressions against the player’s limited time. As they creep upward through dopamine-based rewards; “missions” (chores, really), the company takes that data to Under Armor, etc. and says, “Look! Our consumers engage with our game more every year! That means more eyeballs subconsciously “engaging” with your brand along the way!” Yeah! That equipment collection is all about stimulating content and “quality of life.”
You and I are as much the product as the annual release.

Yes I remember how much fun 21 was to play. Having played DD since 20 I feel like the demand on the player has increased year after year. Last year it really hit home for me that spending that much time on a game isn’t healthy or fun. Although I’m playing 24 I’m choosing to be much more casual in doing so and refuse to let the game play me. I play the game for fun and to relax not grind my life away or sweat to death in competitive online play.

@go4stros25
Or at least allow us to play vs the Yetis! -
@Easy_Duhz_It_ Competitive is the real issue I would play this game so much more if they got rid of it but clearly didn’t hurt there bottom line so highly doubt anything changes
-
Yeah. Rookie difficulty is overpowered right now. I hat to say it; buy I'm lucky if I can get by with a 1-0 win.
-
It’s a lot of balls out of the zone and I’m a terrible swinger. Last year was dominating rookie. This year against the Pirates and A’s I will win by like one run. Matt Olson LS killed for me last year and now is batting .200 the starter program Palmeiro is at .143. The only one batting over .300 is Toni Stone

People complained about rookie last year too. Some people just want it to be batting practice so that they cant get the most XP possible in the shortest time.
That said, their may be something wrong with CPU pitching because tonight, as I was playing storylines, 99% of the time I took a pitch the pitcher feedback always said "Very Late" for the release.
-
@Dolenz I've noticed that as well. Also some of the relievers from TA have messed up pinpoint timing. I wonder if pitch time is just bugged. Hopefully sds can get it sorted out.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It_ this is the best post on this forum. This locked competitive mode is BS to the max. I'm as casual as casual gets and i have no reason to play on this setting yet I'm forced. On pvp should have this locked setting. I've Uninstalled because of it.

Who would complain about rookie being batting practice? Thanks them

@Cheezy-Taters don’t blame you at all I guess people didn’t complain enough last year competitive should be online only, that play your way line is always such a lie
-
@nymets1987 i dont think ive ever complained about Rookie. I have no problem hitting on All Star at least, no problem with the locked competitive style in ranked or H2H but ill be the first to admit when i play Conquest or Mini Seasons, im mashing the [censored] out of the CPU on the lowest settings possible so i dont hit the daily xp cap and i get my missions done quicker. No sense in every game being a struggle.
That said, those of us that like mindlessly mashing for a few hours here and there have already accepted the lower XP so we should be able to change the competitive setting to simulation or casual for DD vs the CPU.
EDIT : The last sentence was basically in hopes that @CBrev47_MLBTS would see the message and relay it back to the team.
-
@Evan12132 people have been talking about this for a few years. MlB The Show 22 was the one that introduced always competitive gameplay. They did it because in TS21 you could easily score 30 runs in a conquest game, and in 22 they added player xp missions and pxp stat multipliers.
Had they left it alone everyone would be able to parallel 5 their favorite players in about 5 hours. Also you would beat all the pxp/stat missions in maybe 3 conquest games.
Basically they changed it so players would be forced to play the game for longer. All online games do this because they believe that the longer a player plays the more likely they are to spend money in the in game store.

@Easy_Duhz_It_ I would send a respectfull ticket under submit feedback maybe they will listen this year and make that change
