Stop makin dumb logos.

Because they reward xp for hits and hrs etc...when it takes 0 skill to hit with this bullsh*t online and rewards garbage user play. Which then gives them more xp to be more garbage online. Hits where pci doesnt even reach..hrs off balls in dirt...its a freaking joke. Turn off that for online for 1000th time and for 4yrs running. Its a joke. This isnt rbi baseball.

The amount of people just letting the cpu aim for them is ridiculous and ruins the competitive nature of online play.......or make it so you can set it as a gameplay feature.

Its requires 0 skill to hit online with directional hitting style. 0.....

Or every time they make contact its a hr?? Not even perfrct timing. The game caters to upper cut power swings...its honesly ridiculous how many hrs and fly balls are hit off balls in dirt...cuz lets allow uppercut swings to be effective in any situation. Not to mention the no aiming and letting cpu aim for ya. Its a god [censored] joke of a game..they dont fix [censored] ever. Pulling low and outside sliders for hits. Directional gets more cheap hits as well. .

Why play a game when you let the cpu do half the work for you? Online should be zone only....

Ya 0-2 waste pitches that get hit for hrs cuz they timed it perfectly even tho its 2 ft out of zone...or throwing fbs up and in all game and cant hit it then 0-2 throw one on outside down and away and they hit it?? Yup ok...its a joke. This game rewards ppl who dont even aim to hit.

"Directional or Zone is personal preference. As far as the main hitting engine goes, both interfaces are identical (Directional simulates your PCI placement for you and passes it to the engine). In Zone hitting you pick the timing and PCI location. In Directional you pick the timing and influence PCI location (or if you don't influence, it picks for you). For this reason it is better not to influence than to influence randomly and get it half right and half wrong (in that situation you are better off paying attention to location and taking pitches).

I would compare it to manual vs automatic shifting for driving. If you are below average in stick shifting, you are better off using automatic where it handles it for you. Your disadvantage is 'forgiven' though you gain nothing extra for it. If you are above average in stick shifting, you are better off using stick to 'earn' that advantage. This is why professional drivers have to use stick to compete at the highest levels because even a small edge adds up, but you can drive perfectly well either way. In fact automatic accelerates faster than manual and doesn't lose energy to shifts, losing out only because manual is smarter and more efficient in other ways.

For this reason, some players succeed more with Directional, others succeed more with Zone. As you approach Legend difficulty, it becomes more important to use Zone because you have 2 ways to outperform rather than 1 1/2. There is no inherent disadvantage to Directional but you miss out on 1/2 a way to shine. So Zone is not significantly more successful in general. For beginners, Directional is often more successful. To be precise, it depends on if you are above or below average in skill at PCI placement (compared to your 2 other skills - timing and take pitch)."

if an opponents batters, a majority of them are batting over 300. they are using timing only or directional. somehow timing only is an option online. so they just power swing the whole time and this game rewards them. its garbage

It's a trade off, though. Directional doesn't guarantee good contact even with perfect timing. With PCI, your contact is guaranteed if you are skilled enough. Even tho they dont admit. The hitting is different after every update and the game still rewards bad user input more than good user input.

Same [censored] flaws 15yrs later in this game. It has become trash and its not even fun anymore. Catered to bums and now its just trash. How is good good an out more times than weak and late. Or what about a popout to catcher squared up and timing good. Make it make sense. Yet...a [censored] can strike out 18x and get lucky on 0-2 pitches the game decides to hang in zone and win. $%%% this game and the lazy developers for turning a once great game into absolute trash.

You realize the developers last year stated if you dont do anything w directional..it resorts to cpu aiming for you and ratings. So basically timing only...esp in DD when everyone has 99 rated...

Ya due to not having to aim, so takes mental.side of pitching out of the equation.

The 2 hitting options of discussion are no way a comparison in any shape or form thus they need to be in two seperated categories or at least with a toggle option to isolate the different skill sets so the game is more enjoyable for the players who desire such.

What this comes down to is people getting angry because they are losing/have lost when they feel they should win because of how their opponent plays.

• Some teams want to hit gappers and HRs (Baseball)
• Some teams run the wing-t (Football)
• Some teams go empty and throw (Football)
• Live and die by the three (basketball)
• Get inside for the easy score/foul (basketball)

• Using Zone Hitting (The Show)

I do not hear anyone complaining that throwing the ball 40 times "isn't football" or that shooting 3s isn't basketball. So I find it pretty rich to have a gamer come on a baseball video game forum and tell people how they should play and how one way of playing shouldn't be allowed in competition. When fact is that their preferred way of hitting (zone hitting) doesn't accurately simulate hitting a baseball either.

So quit your complaining. When the servers are back-up, login, and do what you do: Stair down Rizzo's crotch from your Strike Zone Camera and act like you're amazing because you're moving a curser around a square.

FYI - Before you start laying claim that I use directional, I am a zone hitter. I find the arrogance of PCI users hilarious. Get over yourselves.

You do still know you have to be accurate in your swing and direction of the bat to be successful right? You can still swing and miss at a ball down the plate if you are early or late and you can still miss a ball if your directional swing is up and in but the ball is down and away. Listen. One of the lead developers said the cpu aims.... so yes letting the cpu aim for you is easier than actually having to put the pci on the ball. Directional is the easier of the two esp on any level below hof.

Maybe change the difficulty to hof for all of ranked seasons instead of progressing as you go.

Did they do to this game...why is it 0-2 waste pitches float plate....pulling sliders in the opposite batters box. Guy ks 16 times and wins cuz game cant waste a fuckin pitch. Meanwhile good placement good timing are flyouts and ground outs....anyone else hit it directly at defenders every ball in play??? The last 10 games have gone this way. Did they change something...not to mention perfect perfect being god [censored] foul balls!

Power swing and uppercut. Its ridiculous. Why do i win more games and hit better on hof than as? The amount of times i dont get rewarded for good contact and time is getting to be ridiculous. Since that last patch.

this is true...you will not bat over 300 with every player using zone. it wont happen. not even the greatest player ever would be able to do that. Its only timing and directional that can have multiple batters over 300 over 40 games. If you think else youre not too bright.

i havent had any issues in that regard this week. But when a d/c comes after a hit that scores a run or a hr...i dont think its the game. Usually thats completely randomn or freezes
