The parallel program is dope. Please make this a staple SDS.
If you’re losing when game freezes be a man and take the L.
So you don't see outfielders speeding up or slowing down ? Are you blind? That's just one of many examples. Why don't 99 speed outfielders run 99 all the time?
YES. Drives me insane. I get the feeling they are more interested in creating close scoring games and realistic stats rather than realistic/CONSISTENT gameplay. Nothing is worse while playing a sports game than the feeling that it is rigged.

Because people leave their pitchers in too long and that trumps any DDA. Do mound visits and switch pitchers and the chances of you being mercied are extremely rare. The game will help you out if you are losing and give you chances. Ironically leaving pitchers in too long is what prompts most of these DDA posts in the first place. You really think SDS has the ability to program defensive animations to favor/go against people based on situation? You are giving them too much credit if that's the case. They haven't gotten catcher fielding right in the entire history of this game being online. You thinking they have the capability of programming DDA is laughable So Madden doesn't program in fumbles when you are about to go ahead 21-0? I'll give you more examples. Ball to the gap. Your 99 speed outfielder physically slows down when you are in the lead and the ball drops. However, if you are behind he speeds up and makes the catch. Are you saying you have never seen players speed up or slow down. If so you are not only naive but blind. You may want to get your eyes checked. It happens all the time.

Idk what DDA is but this thread nails exactly what I’ve been saying. Just posted this on another thread-
Where are you playing most of your games? There are plenty of pitcher’s parks to choose from. It makes a huge difference. The real issue in the game is inconsistent gameplay such as the game overcompensating in order to keep games close as well as huge momentum boosts. I understand there are momentum swings in real life as well but it’s not like a player swinging a hot bat has any actual advantage. In the game we get constantly changing PCI which leads to very inconsistent results as it relates to user input. It makes no sense to me why one inning PCI input results in an IF pop up but the next the exact same input results in a home run simply bc I might be down a few runs or the pitcher is beginning to tire. Fielding is just as bad as guys will start making errors on routine grounders or they’ll look like they’re suddenly moving in slow motion and not able to track down a routine fly ball (this is something I noticed a lot more last year). Infielders suddenly taking forever to get rid of the ball and guys beating out grounders is another common example. These types of dramatic swings in gameplay just make the game feel rigged, I can’t be the only one who feels this way.

Is pinpoint pitching the consensus way to go this year? I’ve always been a pulse guy myself but I’ve wondered if I should consider switching. I use pulse and honestly it depends on the pitcher. If they have low BB then even if you’re “good” it can go anywhere. I won’t change tho. Pitching is my lay back and chill time. I resume “gaming position” when it’s batting time

Haha yup I enjoy the pulse, quick and easy. Agree it can be a little tough with the guys with poor control specs but I’d imagine that is true regardless of what type of pitching you’re using.

Yea we’ve all been there. Always amazes me the lengths some of these guys will go to steal a cheap win.
Think it’s important to remember it is still a video game, you wouldn’t want it to be exactly like real life or we’d be playing 3 hour games. This thread does make me feel tempted to try out pinpoint pitching though, I’ve always been a pulse kind of guy myself.
@kovz88_psn said in Shippett completely ruins online play.:
I've only done a few ranked games but have played a handful of event games and have actually yet yo encounter shippet. I would love to play at Citi Field ot Shea Stadium but I'm assuming mlb stadiums still lag so I usually play at Riverboat.
MLB stadiums play well for me, custom stadiums are only place I’ve had any issues. I think it really depends on your internet though.
I used to be a strictly no bunt kind of guy, but I started using it this year couple times a game with my speed guys. One of the beauties of baseball is there is no one right way to play the game. If I’m leading off an inning with Lou Brock and you leave your infielders back you can’t get mad when I lay one down for a hit.

It was really weird how that happened. You’d think his price would have plummeted. I sold a little late at like 65k but I’ll take it
@ironeyes_cody_psn said in I’m tired of being just good enough for Hall of Fame:
From my experience, it's not the type of pitch. It's the inconsistent and, at times, completely fictitious way they animate pci results. The software completely controls the responses. Audio - WHACk = homerun = queue up that particular animation (perfect or whatever). THUD - ball rolled over - queue up that animation. If the software wants to keep a low scoring game..the pitches will become unhittable and they'll animate the PCI results to support that. Just because you see the responses that you were "too early", "too late", perfect..that means nothing. It's just code that says it's so. Doesn't mean that's the true physics of what might have really happened between your swing and the pitch. No, it's much more significant and far-reaching than a couple pitches that come out at an unrealistic angle. That's baby stuff compared to what is really going on behind the scenes with the code. Much of the time it's just purely fabricated feedback to support a desired outcome. It's how software works. Not just in this game, but across the board.

Yup. Everything you describe it what drives me nuts. Inconsistent gameplay throughout. I’d say at least 75% of my games where opponent doesn’t quit ends up going to extra innings. And I can’t even tell you how many games I have lost and won on ridiculous, miraculous walk off home runs with 2 outs and 2 strikes on the exact same pitches that were literally un-hittable up to that point. I guess I understand it to an extent to keep things competitive, but it seems unnecessary and I think vast majority of ppl would prefer consistent gameplay throughout, even if it might mean getting your [censored] kicked little more often.
@pscrabro_mlbts said in Name a worse online game for casual players:
Do you play on a normal T.V. ??? ... the truth about this game is that you need a monitor to compete online. If you are on a TV with 4ms, you will struggle No matter how good you are. The difference between 1 ms and 4 ms is huge.
I’ve heard a lot of ppl say this, but I play on a 15 year old tv and do alright. I think internet speed plays a bigger factor.

If so any success? I kind of like his motion offline but some of his per 9s seem low and I already locked for Ohtani so this would strictly be a buying a starter deal.
I faced him the other day in RS, pretty filthy. Still tough to count on a SP without sinker or cutter though.

I just unlocked him the other day and he helped finally get me over the WS hump in RS. Very good card all around, especially since 2b is so weak to this point. We’ll see what Albies next card looks like but I imagine I’ll be rolling with Jackie for awhile.
I always love greinke’s cards to use against computer as I love his delivery and accuracy, don’t think he’s got the velo or pitch mix to be a real asset in RS though

So played a game of ranked tonight. On my line up screen it showed my opponent using Glavine. The game starts and pitches are doing the weird little teleport out of his hand. He is also hitting 102mph. I asked for a friendly but he refused. Shortly after the game freezes so I contact the other player. He sends me a screen shot showing he was actually using Crochett and not Glavine. He said he used Glavine a couple of starts earlier but he was gassed. On my game history it also shows my opponent to be an Xbox player but he was clearly on PS. He was nice enough to back out so I did get the win. Anyone ever have this happen??
