I know there are issues with the new commentary (missing names, wrong calls, repetition), but as I was playing and watching a real game I noticed one glaring omission to play-by-play that should be somewhat easy to implement that would make the commentary much more realistic:
Include what they've done in previous at-bats in the game! Saying "Now batting, Seth Beer, who's 0 for 3 today" would really go a long way. Every baseball broadcast since the beginning has incorporated this for every at bat, and it's pretty glaring to omit.
Even better would be to actually talk about what they've done in more detail, like "Cron hit a 450-ft homer in the 3rd to give the Rockies the lead," but let's at least start simple.
