I don't know how, but I finished all the offline missions by some major miracle. The two doubles and a stolen base was the hardest one for me, oddly.
But I want to point out a few things, if anyone at SDS is paying attention.
-
It would be nice for players who haven't beat these challenges if you let Robinson actually get a full leadoff, or extend his leadoff in these moments before the pitcher starts his windup. Especially when you are accelerating the counts to 1-1 2-2, etc. Not cool. Nothing like needing a stolen base to beat a challenge and the pitcher starts his windup before you can get a lead properly.
-
Stop making completing a program contingent upon playing completing some things online. Sure, you can get the Robinson diamond card if you beat all the offline and conquest challenges, but to get the rewards beyond that, you are forced to play online. And as a 40-something year-old player, I don't want the toxic nonsense that comes along with it. Give us the option to complete these offline if we choose. Tons of other customers are saying the same thing on here today.
-
I noticed that there were some offline missions left uncompleted in Jackie Robinson's Stage 1 of this program. But because I completed 35 Program points/stars/whatever in them, I cannot go back and get those points even if I complete those goals.
Huh? What kind of nonsense is that? Really?
Anyway, my two cents, and plenty of others on here today are posting the same thing.

Hello fellow MLB lovers,I am new to this game series just starting playing last year and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to sell mike trout to me for 21000.I have never had Mike Trout before.Hes always been one of my favorite players. Please sell him to me at 21000 if you don’t mind.Have a good season and be safe out there fellas and ladies.
Anyone wanna gift me Jennifer Love Hewitt from 10 years ago, while we're on the gifting subject?
posted in Diamond DynastyPropose any idea here, even if it is a good one, and all you get are personal attacks.
Then people wonder why some of us choose to avoid online play. It's that childish, immature toxicity that makes me avoid playing head to head games.
That same toxicity is literally costing you potential customers playing more online, SDS. I really wish you would crack down on the behavior on this site. Have fun arguing everyone. I am off to have a life away from this silliness.
posted in Diamond DynastyNever in my wildest dreams did I think I would be playing games on Hall of Fame mode, nor did I think I would ever complete this.
Only two wins left, one against the AL in six innings, and one against the all-time stars in nine innings, and the Ruth card is mine.
I have lucked out quite a bit, except for the last game, which took me three tries and 16 innings to win.
An absolutely insane grind, though.
posted in Diamond DynastyI'm sitting at 240 program stars grinding for Frank Thomas, and while I know I will likely still get to 300 in the next six days, it would have been nice if instead of giving me 35 Jackie Robinson program points I can't use because I already have his card, if you gave us even 15 program stars as an alternative for those who already have the Robinson card. Makes me feel like those last countless hours I grinded for that 99 overall Robinson were a waste now. Those moments were absolutely brutal to get from 94 overall to 99.
posted in Diamond DynastyAnd I don't try to cheese and steal that much. But the amount of pitch outs by the computer are literally a third to a half of the time you attempt a stolen base. It gets ridiculous after a while.

If you can’t handle the fire. Stay out of the kitchen.
This forum is tired of being lied to and deceived with the same ol SDS dance year after year.
Thanks for proving my point. It's called having respect for others while disagreeing. Try it sometime.

This says everything about you we need to know.
You are correct, It says that I have respect for others and you have proven my point. Condescending responses are the ugly cousin of rage, my friend,
Have a great day, man.

The pitchouts were like this last year, too.
posted in Diamond DynastyI am not exaggerating. Three extra base hits. Wound up racking up over 11,000 XP. I don't know why, but I refused to give up. All for three lousy team affinity points. I tried EVERYTHING. Power swings. Contact swings. Got ahead in the count a ton. Didn't matter. The computer was constantly giving me okay contact on good or perfect swings. Ridiculous. Seriously, what an absolute joke. Go ahead, troll away. I'm not bad at the game.

Are offline guys failing to see that online guys are forced to play offline?
I would love to never play any vs CPU games but I have to for cards. I don't want to play it, but I'm forced to achieve certain rewards. It goes both ways.
Gee, maybe because for 95 percent of our adult lives, all video games were played offline and that's what some people enjoy?
It's like you online only players have an internet umbilical cord attached to your brains or something and cannot survive without it.
posted in Diamond DynastyI don't care if it is two of them, or twenty. Us customers all want new stadiums. I know it can be difficult to upgrade a game, or render new artwork, etc. And I also know they have to pay for the rights to those new stadiums.
So do it.
So many of us spend SO much extra money on this game. It's the least you could do, SDS. Give us Old Comiskey Park. Tiger Stadium. The Kingdome. Candlestick Park. Something. Anything. Old Comiskey and Tiger Stadium, specifically, should be easy to render. How much can the rights possibly cost? I would even pay for it as DLC!
posted in Diamond DynastyI am enjoying the game, but if they don't patch this fielding glitch where guys keep over-running fly balls I am gonna lose it.
Lost the lead once in my last game when I needed to beat the Yankees on All-Star to get the Granderson diamond card. Then the same glitch cost me the game in extra innings in the same game moments ago.
I beat all the Granderson missions, so all I need to do is beat the Yankees on All-Star once to get enough points.
After what just happened, not to mention allowing solo homers magically to Stanton one inning to lose a lead, then Judge in another inning, I really feel demoralized.
I haven't started playing online yet, because I can also get enough points for the card by getting three extra base hits with Yankeed players online, or 10 hits with center fielders online .... but I really don't want to at the moment after that gut punch.
Anyone wanna let me get three extra base hits to get my card? I'm sad lol.
Seriously, they better patch the fielding glitch soon. It sucks so bad.

It’s not like beating the Yankees on all star is a challenge.
You're better than everyone at the game, great job. Meanwhile I spent 70 minutes trying to win on that level because i hate using the stupid PCI only to get screwed by a glitch. No one cares how good you are at the game. Seriously.
I’ve never claimed to be good at the game. I’m terrible compared to a lot of guys here. But beating the CPU in a 9 inning game on all star is not hard.
Do it on All-Star with no PCI and only swing timing, and a team that's 79-83 overall, then come back and tell me how easy it is to do every time.
I bet you lose at least half of those games under those conditions.
Why would you not use PCI?? That’s your own fault.
A 79-83 overall team is more than enough.
I didn't say it couldn't be done. I've won plenty of games on All-Star. But go ahead and put a 79 team on the field with swing timing only on All-Star in a 9-inning game against the Yankees, then come back and post a screenshot of your box score, since you think you know how easy it is every time.
If it’s that hard for you, maybe you just shouldn’t attempt anything above Veteran. I’m sure it would save you a lot of trouble.
You can’t really complain that much when you intentionally choose an inferior hitting interface.
Regardless, I hope you get it done on your next try. Granderson is a nice card to have in the early game.
You have to beat the challenge on All-Star to unlock the card unless you want to play the toxic community of children online all day. And someone should not be punished for choosing one hitting interface over another. They should be similar in equality, honestly, for the sake of realism. So again, before judging me like all angry Cub fans do to everyone, go beat the game under my conditions before telling me how easy it is.
And enjoy those fly ball glitches costing you games.
posted in Diamond DynastyWe all know diamond card odds in regular packs are 1 in 50.
BUT ... do we know if the odds of WHICH diamonds you pull are all the same, odds-wise? Or do they intentionally make the odds way more slim of pulling say, a Mike Trout, knowing its value?
I bet if you asked, they wouldn't tell us straight-up.
Well, at least they were among the first to post any pack odds at all though, unlike slimy NBA 2K.

Not much earning in opening a pack of virtual cards and getting virtual Mike Trout
I've opened thousands of packs over the years and never once pulled a Mike Trout.

of the zone. High inside fastballs and low curveballs and sliders. It's on rookie and veteran so they're too dumb to lay off.
I have no problem striking guys out. But Eckersley is so wild he leaves pitches all over the place, even when that pitch meter is full for several pitches. Sliders and sinkers seem to work well, but several times I've had his slider meter full and given up home runs.
posted in Diamond DynastySure, being inside has left me with little to do other than grinding out team affinity missions, but given the current situation, I'd like to personally thank SDS for giving us all an escape from reality.
I'm being sincere.
Perhaps this will be the first non-toxic thread of the day and people can be positive for a change.

So definitely not a continuation of the thread I wasted 20 minutes reading earlier that was deleted.
I guess I was wrong about the non-toxic part of my post. First comment, too. Seriously, people, if you cannot say something nice, move on. It's not that complicated.
I post something kind, and boom, right out of the gate....smh. My old post had useful information. I cannot control anyone else's behavior beyond that. Have a good day.
The first paragraph of the post was great. However it was marred by the passive aggression of the second.
Yeah, pretty sad I had to put a disclaimer in my post. The world is at that point though.
posted in Diamond DynastyThis mission is really rookie, huh? Tried it over 20 times, still always come up short by 1 or 2 in the hits or HR category.
Guys throwing all-star level sliders and breaking stuff and dotting corners. Gets real, real old, fellas.

Would love to go just ONE thread without someone telling everybody else how much better they are. There are a lot of insanely frustrating veteran missions, your passive aggressive comment aside.

a lot of your points are excellent but i will say that i HATE offline moments and would prefer more ONLINE moments to counteradjust these nonsense 'total 7 base moments' etc.
The 7 base moment is horrific.
