Dennis Eckersley shutout tips?

I keep getting to the 6th or 7th inning and then giving up a home run every time.
It's awful, because his control is absolutely brutal early in his career with Cleveland.
I am about ready to give up on evolving this card.

On challenges like this, I just do the pitch and pitch selection the Catcher recommends. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And that’s about all you can hope for doing these missions.

Dont throw anything in the middle
of the zone. High inside fastballs and low curveballs and sliders. It's on rookie and veteran so they're too dumb to lay off. -

But Eckersley is so wild he leaves pitches all over the place, even when that pitch meter is full for several pitches. Sliders and sinkers seem to work well, but several times I've had his slider meter full and given up home runs.

I'm struggling with this one as well as the Aaron Nolan Affinity Moment. Can't beat either always lose it in the late innings.
Maybe we should switch out of meter pitching for these?
