They used a shiny new toy and some 99 overalls to make people ignore the hitting. It has been a nightmare since the first patch. I’m still wondering why I’m getting good okays and good popped on good pci placement and timing .

I’m also still wondering why my pitches go everywhere (mainly the heart of the plate) on good release pitches. Can’t compete like that.

With the quick idiotic responses to this thread already, it's no wonder why the devs avoid answering anything to the people here

I know they don’t answer anything. But don’t you think they have a lot to explain to us? I mean it would be very helpful if they could explain to us why the game rewards bad input so often and why the game kind of forces you to throw 6 straight [censored] with good release for example. Maybe if they could explain those little details we could see a better community in the forum.

Amazingly, really good players do not have the problem of a weaker opponent beating them. Hmmmm.

    https://images.app.goo.gl/jqDcM711yQyt9Pnw5

Well their records are insanely good. So if you are losing to weaker players more than winning, then you just are not as good as you think.

All that we are discussing here happens to top players as well. Difference is, in my case even tho I have a winning record I’m not elite. So in order to compete I need the game to play fair. I can’t compete if my opponent’s bad input gets rewarded And my good input doesn’t. I can’t compete if the game forces my good releases to be down the middle.

Elite players can overcome that because they hit wayyyy above average. Go check the top players ERAs. You’ll be surprised.

Why good released pitches end up in the middle of the strike zone? For a pitch to be considered good released means that pitch should go to where it was aimed. How does it work here?

Has anyone notice the basic fundamentals of baseball are just wrong in this game. Had a play where my opponent had a man on first and he singled to centerfield. My 2B and SS went out to do the cutoff and trailer towards third base. It was a single straight at my center fielder. No need for double cutoff. Of course, the runner took a big turn and I had no chance to gun him at second when he was returning to the bag because I had no one covering the bag.

Then I had this happening. Lead off triple by boggio. Next hitter just a grounder to third and he automatically runs. Unless there’s a double play risk, which there wasn’t, he shouldn’t have run.

Base running is something they need to fix! Most people talk about good okays but base running is a huge problem as well!

They probably need to build the whole engine from the ground.

First - I'm not complaining. Actually, this is kind of funny.

Second - don't judge me on how bad this recording is. It's BAD. I normally don't record this, as is blatantly obvious.

So... my challenge is to get 4 XBHs during this challenge. I have 3. I'm down to my last out. Then this...

    Again... not complaining. That's baseball.

Wow! When I thought I had seen it all.

Anyone else feel in this years game some of the other hitting views are more viable than SZ? I’m most likely on the older side of the player base of this game (43) and I feel like it’s terribly difficult for me to react to FBs on SZ. It seems easier to read and react on other cameras like Zoom or SZ3. I’ve been exclusively a SZ camera guy over the years but I’ve been gravitating towards Zoom recently. Anyone having success (making WS) on other cameras than just SZ? I know all of the “pros” that stream use SZ but man, it’s just so tough for me this year. I’d like to hear some success stories of people using other cameras, assuming they’re out there!

I’m thinking this whole game is overrated.

  • Questions list for SDS
  • T TeamPotro

Since many community member (including myself) can’t understand how some things in the game work. I think we should make a list of questions for SDS and see if they can answer them, or at least some of them. There’s not a lot of interaction between SDS and the community in this forum but I think this worths a shot. At the end of the day if we don’t get our answers at least we stated our doubts and we can hope our questions help them develop in a better way for upcoming The Show versions.

If we want to be taken seriously and have our questions answered we should make this a legitimate tread and do not be disrespectful with our vocabulary. Please be polite.

I’ll later recap the tread and post the questions without duplicate one (I know there will be couple of repeated questions).

I would love to see a Ranked Seasons-type mode with 3-inning games, where you use your team. My main issue is I cannot always guarantee I can be on the couch for a 45-minute game watching my opponent click in and out of the pause screen two dozen times..

I feel you. I can’t be on the couch for 45 minutes watching my opponent’s bad input get rewarded.

SDS should comment and address to the community. There are so many questions and a lot to explain to the community but their feedback is just not existent. I personally think that they not answering our questions is just disrespectful.

Just wait. They might delete your comment...

Dint think so. I’m not being disrespectful and I’m not swearing. I just think they need to be more responsible and ethical when it comes to communicating with us. In fact, a lot of the disagreements that we’ve seen in this forum could’ve been avoided if they would answer our questions.

I hate ranked seasons because of this. It feels like whoever has the weaker lineup gets the favored outcome. I played someone recently that had a losing record and .231 average. My average in ranked is .301. I had 16 dead or near dead center good/okays for outs and lost the game. I usually can tell early if I am going to lose when I start getting an obsessive amount of good/okay and my pitches float down the middle despite perfect input. It sucks because online play is my favorite but it's ruining it for me.

There are a ton of tell tale signs that show you will probably lose the game. If they don't exist, it is usually a very early quit for my opponent. If they are, I am either going to lose or it will be a dog fight.
    Jumpy pci when hitting
    Good/good+ rarely results in hits
Throw either down the middle or ball - jumpy pci when pitching
    Opponents get hits on everything
    Strikes on corners
Fielding blunders (quite a few different ones)
Base stealers get very poor jumps
Extra long or very slow returns when rounding a base

Pretty sure there are a few I am forgetting but when you see these signs it is best to cut bait and quit or you will get get frustrated and it is a complete waste of time. The ONLY way to win these games (which is possible) is if your opponent swings at [censored] outside the zone or can't hit pitches down the middle. Based on these, I can usually tell within the first 3 innings whether I am going to win. Game is extremely predictable if you pay attention to the signs.

Couldn’t agree more. You forgot the check swings. The game prevents your opponent from striking out by fouling pitches on terrible timing or bad pci work and also by check singing a lot. Usually the game buys time until you hang something and boom! Tomahawk.

Opponents dont ruin it. RNG ruin it. I’m okay losing to someone who outplays me. Tip my hat to them. But losing when even your opponent text you telling that his swings were awful and he apologizes. That shouldn’t happen.
