No, Im pretty sure you are exaggerating. or you have a sample size of 3 or 6.
Does come up more than I remember in past years though, the lineouts on balls to the 2b side of the SS in particular

I assume this complaint is from strictly offline players - because, if you can't easily beat cpu on all star, I'm not sure how you'd ever win a game online. I like anything that pushes people away from picking low difficulties - grinding on rookie with blank canvas stadium is pretty boring, it shouldn't be the best way to grind
I fully agree that cheese stadium grinding on rookie, or any difficulty, shouldn't be the best way to grind. I'm actually curious how much overlap there is though: things like blank canvas are popular among online players who treat offline as just that: a grind. I know I personally rarely use those stadium. Obviously some casuals do but I imagine they are more widespread among the hardcore players.
I just dont think you, or SDS, should really be concerned if people don't want to push themselves further. If the extra pxp isnt enough incentive, who cares?
Keep in mind also the average player is also playing on a TV with a wireless controller: as it should be. Thats how normal people play console video games. Obviously you can still do fine on all star with that set up, but then throw in a large portion of players are 40+ with potentially slower reaction times.
Im all for players to be rewarded with faster rewards for playing higher difficulties. Like win 11 games on All Star OR win a 28 game season championship seems fair.
I'm just baffled at anyone thought this was a good idea.
Hey, they tried something new. I think both this and the way to get Nimmo were big whiffs.
But trying to reward people who want to play events a bit more is a good idea, so hopefully they try again with something a little less absurd.
Winning 11 games on All Star in mini seasons to get Nimmo is not a big whiff. If you go less than 11-0 during this time then the reward isn't for you.
The game has difficulty options for people that enjoy them, forcing players to choose one they don't like for a no sell card is universally bad game design and should never even be considered. Even the extreme program can typically be completed on rookie if you have a LOT of time on your hands.
Its just an incredibly bad path to go down, even if winning 11 games on all star isn't, in my personal opinion, very difficult.

I am in full agreement that the all star requirement is a bad direction to go. Just not good game design to force difficulty in this situation.
I have yet to use Tucker because I dont want to take Nimmo, Adolis, or McNeil out of my new threads lineup. Adolis is easily the worst of those cards, but the celebration animation is worth it
There’s a long list of negative changes that go far beyond the 20 player cap that they put in this year. Changes that are obviously put into place to try and force more stub sales
Long list huh, do go on. Please, elaborate on this long list of changes aimed at trying to force stub sales.
And how does making packs easier to obtain than recent years fit in as well?
McGonigle did something that only 6 players have done since 1900 and no one has since 1990. 4 hits in a debut. The only players younger than him to do it were griffey jr and deshields. They pick Dingler to get supercharged !!! SDS has zero baseball knowledge and credibility that's the reason for every issue this game has and will have.
Tough to supercharge someone who didn't have a live series card in the game at the time. Maybe think for a bit before being a piece of [censored]?
He is on par with the event reward and has a good swing. 80 power is more than enough to crush HRs with the card. But if you don't like using off meta cards than you can just skip, you can get Tucker and Bo without touching the miniseason.
I’d prefer to have some sort of indication that I already own the card for the team collextion.
This is a must have in my view. Another oversight from a non user tested UI (although I love the live series collection window in general)
I can't back out of the End of Season Overview screen to the regular UI.
I'm lucky that my wins are tracking correctly, but the "back out" not working is a pain. I have to reboot the game every time.
It seems to be only the semifinals for me.
I do wonder for the people that have disconnect issues, or wins not counting, what the common thread is. I have played at ~15 miniseasons and never once had my win not count or disconnected.
Highlights the need for some kind of beta test period. If most people have no issues its easier for SDS to think everything is working (not that it means they will fix it if someone finds an issue of course)
The question is, if they made live series easier how would they ramp up monetization elsewhere to make up for their cash cow being made less beefy?
I'm not sure I want to know the answer to that.
@TripleH-4481_PSN sounds about right. Realistically you probably have to open about 10,000 packs to pull a judge or ohtani. Is there a place you can go to see how many packs you have opened?
12,500 is expected for Ohtani specifically (or Judge specifically...not either or)
And that will have a high variance
Live series players aren't restricted.
However WBC Diamonds are restricted. 99Tulo/Pujols are restricted. Gold Pujols is ok.
Peralta is sellable. And apparently not very popular.
So you are saying MLB The Show should remove zone and remove pinpoint? Just make everything one button? And offline only of course, because the overwhelming majority of gameplay complaints are from online players. Thats what you really want?
Or are you just being disingenuous [self censor because that somehow got by the censoring]
That said, I genuinely think Super Tecmo Bowl is more fun than current madden, sometimes simpler is better.
I'm not a huge fan of how short they are, I have to be in the mood to play online and theres a good chance that mood wont strike in a 5 day window.
But its fast enough to earn stubs to buy the player anyway
Benge joined this club today too
I dont think Skenes will be supercharged. Or Peralta for that matter.
They neutered mini-seasons and made the rewards nothing compared to where they were last year.
Uh...is this a 2025 thread?
Mini seasons are the best month 1 repeatable content in years, if not ever.
I hate CPU baserunners so much in moments. Let me control them.
Ive also been screwed by the official scorer a few times where i would have a double without a throw home but got denied
