There is nothing they can do that will please everyone. No pace that they can set not matter how aggressive or conservative that will satisfy all. Should they strive for those goals? Yes, but they will never achieve them.

Its not just about the cards. Surely there is a better way to have us work for Buxton/Devries than simply 'use a subset of cards for 100 hours'. #1 fan grind is the same way. Having some sub goals along the way is important for keeping a long grind engaging.

Its like a RPG making you earn all the 1-50 experience at lvl 1 and taking you directly to 50 without the incremental progress along the way.

If I am playing devils advocate, now that they are releasing 99s they kind of need to pace themselves. They still have 3 to 4 months left for content drops. If we get all the Griffey and Mantle 99s now in big content drops there will be nothing left come November.

We have Spotlight, a new event and a new conquest today. It's the end of the month Spotlight so it is a little longer than normal

All the more reason why we should still be doing 96s and 97s now, not 99s.

Pipeline was good content but not three weeks worth of content.

People that play other sports game will mostly play those games either way, but still an odd choice to have a major content drought as NBA and NHL both are launching.

I don't know why people would want to even defend people that promote stub sellers. Stub sellers are far worse for the game than cheaters are.

Pedro pitched 9 games for the Phillies. If they give him a 90ish last ride, sure. But I wouldn't want to see a 99 fitting into a theme team for them. Just like a 99 Mays would make no sense for the Mets.

How about White Sox and Rays legend Manny Ramirez?

I do agree with managers though, they should replace captains and upgrade as the year goes on.

Maybe this is old news but is this really necessary? FFS it seems every player I liked watching growing up is a chase card, headliner, or WC reward

The last thing this game needed was a 3rd WC card to put even more legends behind stub walls for the majority of players, but I guess this is the norm now.

I had fun for a few weeks but these inning drops always make me not want to log in, even if I want one of the inning bosses (if the speculation is correct)

They did say they were taking a break.

It would have made more sense to have one before the Pipeline drop (and better help explain the no sell choice packs that have confused people), there isn't enough content on an inning drop to fill an hour without uncomfortable amounts of padding

Its not that the lower difficulties are difficult, they are just tedious some games.

Timing needs some tweaking, as the amount of foul balls on swings with good timing is excessive and it really slows down the game. If the swing is in the 'good' range and the pitch is a strike, the ball should be in play.

In general the CPU throws way too many balls on the black or outside the zone. The amount of dots is not remotely realistic when these are 5th starters throwing them up. Ive gotten a little more used to it, but I do think offline played better a few years ago.

I do agree that a lot of people just want to play semi mindlessly without having to sweat. Personally I do not look to long term genres like an ultimate team mode for difficulty, its about the slow build of your roster over time. I look to other genres for when I want to sweat. But The Show rarely forces offline difficulty which puts it above most of the other games. And the higher difficulties aren't cheap in the way games like 2K can be.

I would never play it, but maybe they could add a vs CPU mode for half xp/pxp with a sub rookie difficulty for people that just want HR derby with their cards without it being abused.

I received two messages during my Show career.

One was 'u cheeks', which is true but I had won 5-2.
The other was 'just throw fastballs down the middle'.

After those two I turned off messaging and never looked back.

While I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few false bans here, I find it hard to believe a bunch of people were innocently flipping too good to be true deals on equipment/audio without knowing they were linked to stub sellers.

I can also understand why someone would have thought it was fine to take advantage of this anyway (harming the stub sellers), unlike the WBC glitch which was an obvious violation of ToS.

Just finished it. Nothing of value in hidden rewards.

You can repeat the map for 5k xp and a premier pipeline though, which is solid.

I hit the Luzardo round for the midsummer pack and the rare round for HRD at least

20 WBC uniform packs, 50 or so bronze packs from DQ, the packapalooza pack, the chase choice, the HRD/ASG choice and this inning's boss pack.

Granted the choice packs I don't know what I want to take but cant be bothered with the first two items.

The main issue is that inning drops are typically a content drought for offline players which is the exact opposite of what they should be.

When a new season starts in 2K it comes with a new domination, and new reward tracks for their other offline modes. More content than any sane person will be able to actually finish. When a new inning comes in the show it includes general content that can be done typically in 2 games (spotlight) or so and maybe some moments to finish the cornerstone.

Of course, 2K typically removes all old content (which is one of the two reasons Im not buying this years game, with forced cheap difficulty being the other) and at least The Show has the option of running old mini seasons or conquests, but innings should be filled with new things to do instead of 'wait a week for the first real content drop'

Given just how many chase cards are out there I could see them giving another chase selector as the big reward

Such a waste that there are 4 'big' cards for online play each inning yet 0 for offline play.

Would be a good place to put the guys like Tony Gwynn that online players don't want anyway.
Or just make it the same guys but give some excitement for offline players each inning.

I have enjoyed the last few weeks but I think every single one of my longer gaps in play the last two years has started with an inning release.
