Unacceptable.
-Extreme lack of post launch content, and this "program" did little
-A pack for what was always free in the past
-No ways to earn said packs offline
Topps Now you'll have to buy the Pack of the Month

I think SDS has too heavily favored online play this year and its starting to really impact my enjoyment.
Its the combination of less content in general along with most xp being in online programs.
TA part 2 drop had 80K xp added to online programs. There was a negligible amount of xp in the TA tracks, which I wouldn't even classify as offline anyway, and then 4k in the Season Awards. Since then I think weve gotten another 8.2k between Jackie and Season Awards. So 12.2k vs 80k.
Quite frankly the offline gameplay modes are stale right now, which doesnt help things either. Conquest is ok, and mini games are a good idea with a mediocre implementation that hasnt been iterated on at all.
SDS needs to balance better between offline exclusive modes and online exclusive modes, with programs being neutral as they are able to be done in both online and offline environments
Offline modes should offer the same xp, and the same amount of cards (ideally identical cards) as online play, even if its tweaked to be a bigger grind
At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it.

The unapologetic disgusting greed this company is showing this year is ludicrous.
Increased greed plus SIGNIFICANTLY decreased content is a bad formula.
I could live with one or the other, but not both

If online isn’t your thing, and if you’re feeling like you want to dip your toes into H2H play, I highly suggest events
Free entries, no downside to losing since you’re not pushing for flawless rewards, and it’s a good way to get practice playing H2H
I don't enjoy playing online, that's the issue.
The walking on egg shells you need to do while pitching just isnt fun for me. My poor pitch recognition and high latency put me at a severe disadvantage for hitting. The only online mode I don't dislike is ranked because the matchmaking is better and I can bring a Mets team into it.
I would say Event has by far the biggest downside to losing: you have completely wasted your time and have nothing to show for it. BR and Ranked you can at least make program progress without winning
I never would have ever suspected that 'Fat Juggz' would use an inappropriate logo
I'm sorry, was this supposed to be funny? SDS's idea of content may be funny, but this is just sad.
Review bombers are the gaming equivalent of Karens

My seven-year-old almost got banned for naming his team the Boston Bear Cubs. I was livid at SDS until I realized it wasn't the team name it was the Abbreviation
And just what does SDS have against the British Broadcasting Corporation?
Offline play was in a bad spot in season 1, especially combined with any non TA content being low effort to complete.
Obviously no new modes are to going to be created, so conquest and mini seasons need to do the heavy lifting
The trick is to make the content feel optional, and legends mini season and nation of baseball do feel optional while also being rewarding. Same thing with the ranked/BR track extensions
This will be overkill for a lot of people, but it's better to have two much optional feeling content than the season 1 situation
It started out fine with the return of conquests, mini season resets, and the notice of two upcoming programs and conquests.
However, the programs gave a total of 4 cards and 1 pack and now the upcoming content scheduled is barren. Season 2 has no 'juice' to it. And ive gone from playing multiple hours every day to struggling to play for more than a game or two because I have no desire to use the limited amount of season 2 cards available, I dont have desire to go back to core/live series, and there is nothing on the schedule to look forward to
The game has taken a monumental nosedive since one year ago. Last year's pre all star break content was fantastic. The biggest program all year, which was released on day 1, would have been the smallest at this point last year.
Also, people that play offline aren't necessarily doing it for 'no challenge'. Some grind CPU vs rookie because the game is setup for that to be the most efficient progress, but not everyone does that. I spend 95% of my time on All Star personally where I will at least lose some of the time. the game does a terrible job at encouraging higher difficulties though.
Here are some other reasons people dont play online:
-Need to be able to walk away from the game at a moments notice
-Unreliable internet connection
-Live in other parts of the world
-Matchmaking in 2 of the 3 online modes is [censored]
-The mode with decent matchmaking is still fairly rare to get a good 9 inning game in
-Clown ballparks
-Clown team names/logos
-Clown people (bunt dancers/r2/etc)
Even if the initial intent was to make DD online, a smart company adapts to their playerbase
I feel this year they are instead trying to push people to online more and its thankfully backfiring.
So maybe stop taking those people for granted and give proper offline content. Why cant we get a conquest with a couple cards every time you refresh event? Why cant we get a dozen cards from a new mini season when you refresh BR?
And if you want us to play more online than enough with '4k pxp in one run' type of goals. The people that hit that dont even need it, they are blowing through the program fast enough. That makes me never want to touch the mode. Improve BR and Event matchmaking (easier said than done I know). Give a way to progress in event tracks without wins.
Honestly my quit point this year, as an offline player who will occasionally play online to complete tracks and because ranked can be fun, was the 200 hit/100 runs ranked missions for ranked. Once I saw that the second round of drops only made things worse by reducing the innings missions I knew SDS didnt want me around this year anymore.
I could understand it if it were for players who swapped positions in minors but from what I can see Heim has always been a catcher
This significantly reduces my desire to play season 3 if these are our early season options. I have no desire to hit with Nolan Ryan or pitch with mcgwire. Very strong chance I have played my last game of The Show this year and I was actually excited for the game again recently.
Program missions:
Lose a game online
Lose a game vs rookie CPU
Blow a save
Strikeout 3 times in one inning
commit an error

You do realize the season is 5 days old right?
Of course. The game has been out for over two weeks now, nearly 3 weeks for preorders
There was more program content for WBC last year than there is in the entire program list so far this year.
THERE IS NO DEFENSE FOR LACK OF CONTENT SO FAR. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt that this new season awards would be significant. And they release a program smaller than a typical Topps Now week, even though its supposed to be two programs in one.
To be fair, we still actually don't know if they will be hard to reach.
However, today's drop was actually a step backwards in xp without a new mini season. They said they would ramp up the xp as the season went on, but I see no evidence of this yet
On one hand, the idea of doing a conquest map for a card is great, and something like this weekly would be fantastic
On the other hand, no xp is baffling, and the card should be sellable for two reasons: So the online people dont need to play the map, and so for once the offline people get an exclusive sellable cards as opposed to the 40 or so that online players have gotten.
@Ms740929 said in Jeter Card ???:
Changing from “subway series and yankees” to “captain of captains” completely ruins the card. They give you a ton of low diamond yankees and then a captain card that has nothing to do with it. Just another way of pushing people to buy packs this year
Oh get over it.
The subway series captain card already exists.
The Yankee team captain already exists, and with better boosts.
There are currently I think 8 available free captains (granted two are Jeter so really 8), and they will without question release more. So no, you do not need to buy packs
Not everything is "pushing people to buy packs". Stop with the overreaction to every little thing.
Its a free card that I would wager at least 50% of the DD playerbase wont even bother to do unless they add a core collection.
There may be a lot wrong with this game's model this year, but the Jeter storyline isnt it.
Then why is finding matches in BR and Ranked far faster than it was at any point last year?
Event mode is anti-casual, I got my 2 doubles for Easter and its doubtful I'll ever play it again
