Usually, I'm just a guy that sits around until the last few days of the season to make it to pennant race and sell the rewards. However, I decided to change things a bit this time around and try to make it on the first day. Here's what happened.
Game 1
I had Hal on the mound, my opponent was starting Paxton. As I hadn't faced Paxton that much, I struggled, and so did my opponent against Hal. We went into the fifth inning, still tied up at 0. My leadoff hitter, Tatis comes up and hits a ball I squared up pretty well to the center field warning track. One out. Up is Mantle. He destorys a 98 mph fastball from Paxton, and sends it out. The guy quits.
Game 2
My starter for this one was Paxton, who I was doing ok with. Opponent had 97 Greinke, who I hadn't faced before at all and didn't know how he pitched. I somehow put up 6 runs in the first(including a rbi single for Paxton). Opponent bunt dances down by 6, and I strike out the side. He quits as well.
Game 3
I had Kluber starting for this one, opponent was using Marichal. I score the first run on a typical dinger with Hornsby. Yep, the guy quits.
So, that's how I made it into pennant race in 30 minutes.
