The Topps Now Andrew Velazquez and FS Wander Franco both rake for me. I used Velazquez as part of my Yankee theme team and hit so well with him, I use him in my main squad now. I’m probably a .250ish hitter overall but push .350 with both of those guys. Just something that works for me.

This year I just needed Trout to complete the Live Series collection. I was about 25K away from his sell now price and got a ballin pack from a conquest map. Pulled Trout in the pack, my only time ever getting him. Was able to use the stubs I saved to buy some fun players I wanted and got the collection and trout. Hard to top that.

Just curious, but I remember last year TA3 dropped around this time and that quite a few new legends were introduced. I think Thome, Walker, and either Al Leiter or AJ Burnett were among them. Around the same time, the grind for the 99 Ruth came out.

I’ve enjoyed the game so far, but I’ve felt my interest waning since TA3 dropped this year. I appreciated the cards but really get excited to try new legends.

Any chance we see a few new ones or do you think we’re done this year?

Bernie is my dream card. But he won ALCS mvp in 96, Wells win in 98.

I’d go 98 batting title Bernie, Jeter 3K, and 95 postseason mattingly. Give me a mattingly with big power please.

The show maintains each teams 40 man rosters. Kluber is injured and on the 60 day IL, thus not on the Yankees 40 man roster… so the video game defaults him to FA to not screw up the collections of each 40 man roster.

100%. Finished live series last week. I’m terrible but adding trout, ortiz, chipper, and Soriano has helped me compete.

I’m a Yankee fan, so my examples or for players I know... I’m sure everyone has this feeling about their favorite players/teams.

Sometimes I see cards and the attributes make no sense at all. For example, for the 1987 Mattingly card, he slugged .587 vs rhp and .523 vs lhp, 4.6% hr per pa against right and 5.1% vs lefties. It makes no sense why he has such little power against left handed pitchers.

Another example is Lou Gehrig’s 1928 World Series card. He hit .545/.706/1.727 with 4 homers and a double in only 17 plate appearances! The double and one of the homers was against a LHP. That card should have insane attributes, but it’s very meh.

I’m not saying that we need these “god squad” type cards for Gehrig and/or Mattingly, but don’t say it’s a certain year/post season/half, if the attributes don’t match up to the performance in that time. I’d be fine with those mattingly and Gehrig numbers if they matched a time where they made sense, or were just veteran or rookie cards.

How does your ranking within a BR or Event entry work? Do you just gain x per win and then drop down x for a loss? So theoretically if you’re 11-0 in BR, the matchmaker looks for another 11-0 team?

Do we think there will be some exchanges for TA2, like the rivals exchanges of last year? Thinking about stocking up on some of the golds that are near quick sell value...

If you complete a live series collection during TA1, will you still be able to lock in the collection for progress on TA2?

I have al east done as of yesterday but haven’t locked it in, as I’m done with TA1 and don’t want the progress I’d get to go to waste.

How does everyone pick up pitches off the pitcher without getting beat by the fastball? I feel like if I don’t sell out for fastball, I always get too late on my swing. And if I’m selling out, I don’t have time to judge and flail at sliders all day.

Playing second inning showdown and none of the tutorial tips are coming up, as used to happen from time to time. Anyone else notice this?
