Picking up pitches

How does everyone pick up pitches off the pitcher without getting beat by the fastball? I feel like if I don’t sell out for fastball, I always get too late on my swing. And if I’m selling out, I don’t have time to judge and flail at sliders all day.

You basically either need a monitor or TV with game mode to even have prayer. Unless you have godlike reflexes.

Practice mode on legend with against a pitcher like Chapman and using someone with low vision to hit. Once you start timing those, online pitches will be easier.

Even with it this game random af. Even swing timing is sooo random. You’ll see dudes constantly late on a 95 mph fastball but give a pitcher a 99 mph fastball and a 95 mph cutter and the same dude will be very late in the fastball and very early on the cutter all day somehow lol.
Just play the game to have fun OP and if you can’t do that online definitely don’t play it online lol.

You really have to watch the release point of each pitcher and earn how to recognize the pitch.

Anything that sort of comes out of the hand in an upwards motion, is a breaking ball and fastballs come out flat.
The only outlier here is the sinker, it acts like a breaking ball out of the hand but has the speed of a fastball. That's why it is still so over powered.
