Play as SB. Drafted second round by the Angels. After two seasons at the bottom of the league but with some strong individual performances, I was traded to the Pirates. My player has been out of form ever since, but the team is incredibly strong and successful.

Yeah, same here. I’ve been playing at the rookie level for the past few years (I guess I was too old and slow for higher levels). My batting average was usually around .270–.320 during those seasons. That was fine with me—relatively realistic and not too frustrating. Go up one level, and I almost never made contact.
In MLB The Show 26, I'm currently in my first full year in the majors (~120 games played in the season), and my batting average is just under .400. Games with 3 or more hits are no problem. My player has a contact rating of 80, but all other key hitting stats are barely developed. Now I'm thinking about leveling him up, since these are great stats, but

I play second base. My player often drops ground balls or can't field them cleanly. Do I need to improve his fielding attribute, or is there another attribute I should focus on?

Thank you all. Have a great weekend.

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to build a player focused on Contact hitting and Speed/Stealing in MLB The Show 26 and I’m a bit unsure about the best equipment setup.
Right now I’m mainly going for:
High contact / consistent hitting (line drives, singles, high average)
Speed + base stealing
Low strikeout rate (good plate vision / PCI control)
My question is:
What are the best Equipment (archetype perks / perk boosts) for this type of build?
Specifically:
Which Equipment should I prioritize for hitting (Contact vs Vision vs Clutch)?
Are there any “must-have” speed/steal perks for base running?
Is Vision still the most important stat for Contact hitters this year?
Any recommended Equipment combinations that work really well together?
Also curious if anyone has a “meta” setup for a leadoff style player.
Thanks in advance! -
If your agent calls you, answer: "I've never seen myself with my team" or "I'd like to play somewhere else". The answer has to be something like that. Then you have a chance of being traded during the season.

When I create a new ballplayer, he always has the complete skillset of my current ballplayer. Can I prevent this somehow? I would like to start with a player without all the skillsets and perks, i.e. when I play the game for the first time.
What team selected you?
