As an off-line only player, Team Affinity is a real focus for me. Being free agents, Negro League players do not count for TA at all.
As a result, I don't use them at all, really. At least until I finish all the TAs.
This has probably been suggested already, but a possible solution might be to use a voucher for Negro League players. Maybe if you accumulate 2000 XP with these players, you get a voucher that could be applied to any Team Affinity.
This would definitely encourage me to use them, instead of just letting them sit.

If SDS would like to quell the largely negative reaction so far, I would suggest they release more information to show players more about how it's going to actually work.
Most of us are leary of the unknown. Maybe if we understood more about it the reaction would become more positive.
On a different note, so happy to see Team Affinity is coming back. It was a terrible idea to leave it out last year, imo. It was the best part of the game for me. -
PXP rather than simple XP insures the 90% will never reach Piazza, say nothing of Griffey. Congrats to the 10% who will.
With nothing else coming this week, good time to put the game down and do other things. -
While I don't claim to be an expert on the Negro Leagues, I did a little research to see what players might be coming in the next few years to the Show.
I'm guessing most of you already know about Josh Gibson and Cool Pap Bell. It's worth noting that many, if not most Negro League players played multiple positions. Including many who also pitched, which makes the two-way player ability very interesting.
Just a few of the top players -John Henry Lloyd, SS - a lefty hitter, some called him the "black Honus Wagner."
Mule Suttles, 1b, lf. Huge power.
Oscar Charleston, cf. John McGraw said he was the best player he ever saw.
Louis Santop, c. A lefty power hitter, strong arm.
Bullet Rogan, rhp. Threw very hard and also played outfield.
Double Duty Radcliffe, rhp, c. Would often start the first game of a double header pitching, the catch the second game. Hit for power.
Willie "Devil" Wells, ss. All around player.
Smokey Joe Williams, rhp. Many who saw them both said he was better than Satchel Paige.
Biz Mackey, c. Outstanding defensive catcher, but good switch hitter, too.
Turkey Stearns, cf. Very fast, would hit lead off but had power to hit clean up, too.
Spottswood Poles, of. Kind of like Kenny Lofton maybe.
There are many, many more. Much to look forward to.

Wright might be the live series collection reward.

There will surely be more Negro League content. Whether continued Storylines or a different kind of program, no way there won't be better versions of these guys. Hopefully soon.
I hope they make a way to make them count somehow to TA (vouchers maybe?) or else it's kind of tough to use them when trying to advance in TA.
