This has probably been suggested already, but a possible solution might be to use a voucher for Negro League players. Maybe if you accumulate 2000 XP with these players, you get a voucher that could be applied to any Team Affinity.
This would definitely encourage me to use them, instead of just letting them sit.
Not sure if you’ve done this latest weekly wonder or AllStar programs but I used my Negro League tier 3 boosted team (thanks to a solid lineup from @samguenther1987) and combined it with the AS/HRD players that I acquired and had a kind of chimeric team that was extremely fun to play ball with…it took me a couple of extra games due to flopping with O’Neil in one game but I had a blast with it and I can’t seem to disband the team just yet either
